Euro had slightly more phasing in the midwest with a closed low. Coastal was further west this run.

Even the lakes arent getting anything right now.

Euro really digs the northern stream further south here. H5 looked pretty good. It then tries to form another low with the northern stream energy. This isnt sorted out yet.

What a terrible winter for everyone I live in nyc and I only have 3.3 inches. Alot of fantasy storms which didnt pan out and the cold air hasnt been existence.

Happens alot with Miller A storms Storms usually come back west when the northern stream gets sampled.

What's not a very cold look ? The gfs , gefs, and eps love his timeframe.

His timeframe looks good right now but we all know how long range has verified.

You never toss the towel on a Miller A days out. Remember when the Euro showed alot of snow 72 hours out and even the same day in December for the area. You are dealing with a Miller A which is notorious for NW shifts.

Euro is an outlier right now but temps continue to be an issue like you said. It's a shame because we are at the end of January and temps shouldn't be an issue with a Miller A storm. Hopefully the models dig the northern stream in and everyone cashes in.
