Amen. Nice event verbatim with no mixing concerns. i think many would take the tradeoff of less high-end potential for a pure snow event that sticks around. i want to take my nieces sledding without sleet crust or cold wet mud creeping into the equation like many storms in recent years.

Indeed.. It's getting hard to justify buying season passes.. i stopped two years ago. having to thread the needle to get down to Roundtop on days when conditions are half decent gets old.. i'll still get down there at every opportunity, but now I don't feel the pressure to go on crappy nights just to get my moneys worth out of the pass.

Even though its just a butt-ton of rain, I'm still weirdly excited to track this system and see increasing model consensus for a shellacking.

Ditto, worst I've experienced to this point. Once things got grid-locked it was game-over.. i remember so many vehicles just spinning their wheels on any type of incline.. just no ability to gain momentum. I considered pulling off into a parking lot and walking home the last 3 miles as I had a hungry pup at home. Probably the only snowstorm I didn't fully enjoy in my life.

Was that the commute-a-geddon storm that way over-performed with heavy mid-day rates? I think HIA had ~8" on the books for that one but I don't recall if that was 2018 or 19. I just remember it taking 3 hours to get home for what is usually a 20 minute commute.

Agreed. Distraction gone at least. Guess we have to wait until the trade deadline in Feb. to see if Morey's plan to flip the accumulated draft picks for an impact player comes to fruition.

Almost a carbon copy of last year.. tear through the wild card round, knock off the braves behind great pitching and red-hot bats.. look unbeatable at home.. then just can’t sustain it and go ice cold when it matters most… Harper, Turner, castellanos brutally cold to end the series. Baseball is a funny game. .

Feeling both of these simultaneously. This will be my inner-dialogue for the next 12 hours.

@sauss06 was that you on abc27 just now? .

Pretty insane lightning display here in Linglestown.. I’m a storm enthusiast but gotta admit I nearly jumped out of my chair a few times with the point blank strikes. .

GFS is a relentless scorcher. Never enjoy seeing those deep pink 850 temp anomalies on tropical tidbits but they set up shop for pretty much the entire run. I need one of those emergency eyewash stations from high-school Chemistry class after looking at that. Euro was similar last night. Still hope we see some back-down as we get closer. Would compromise with the board heat-misers on the CMC's voice of reason solution. .

There’s about an hour window in the morning where I can embrace that as the caffeine and taurine peak in my system.. then back to the introvert enclave.

Maybe it will keep the handful of perpetual small-talkers from getting too close and derailing my afternoon. Skunks got something right evolutionarily. .

Working downtown today, took a walk to City Island over lunch. Shutting my office door this afternoon. I stink.

@canderson @anotherman me and the lady are getting some food then heading down to the river front.. won’t clog the thread but message me if you want to meet up for a couple minutes later. Hot but not too bad tonight all things considered. .

On the same page with many here.. In winter (or any time snow is possible) I’m in the invigorating mid-20s camp for ideal temp... outside of winter give me those mid-60s.. picturing those October sunny days that lead to crisp evenings and temps dropping like a rock.. hoodie weather.. also those spring/summer days where you get a reprieve from heat with a socked in easterly flow and a nice steady rain. .

Funny enough, I was looking that event up on Friday as my freshly mowed backyard turned into a river due to flash flooding.. that 9-1-21 event was the only other time that happened since I moved in here.. we had over 5 inches here in linglestown with ida. I believe that event kind of quietly found it’s way into a top 5 daily rainfall event at mdt, behind one of the Agnes days if my memory isn’t complete garbage. .

I’m staying up in coastal New Brunswick this week at a place called beaver harbour. it’s been raining/foggy and 60-65 degrees for four straight days.. not great for driving or sightseeing but ironically some of the best air quality I’ve had this summer. Considered canceling a few weeks back when there were active fires even out this way. Would hope Quebec/Ontario are getting in on some of this to help out the situation. The sick deranged weenie in me is loving this consistent drear and steady rain after the past few months back home. The mrs. is probably getting ready to punt me into the sea after the tenth time I’ve come inside soaking saying something like “this is great chowder and coffee weather” .

Spot-on Bubs.. someone looking back on this thread will probably think you were just re-capping the way the game ended instead of making a dead-on prediction hours before the puck dropped. thrilling series... battling back from 2-0 in the series and again on the road in a game 7, really impressive.. story-book ending.

Holy crap!!! .

Agreed.. they're speedy little bastards and most passes tape to tape in open space, pretty impressive.. I didn’t realize Dan Bylesma was at the helm for them until a few weeks ago… That said… Bears might have figured a few things out in Game 3. They really took it to them in the corners, just muscled CV off the puck pretty consistently for stretches… Probably the obvious key for the Bears if they want to hang with a well-oiled machine is limiting man-advantages.. Most of the penalties the Bears took in Game 3 were self-inflicted, too-many-men-on the ice, delay of game, etc.. those really came back to bite them. Giant Center was electric on Tues. Just got my voice back this morning. Won’t be there tonight but good luck to those who are heading down.

I didn't expect it to be this noticeable at the surface tonight. The Nextdoor app comments have quickly shifted from the usual "did anyone hear those bangs? were those fireworks? gunshots?" to being flooded with "what the hell is burning in lower paxton township?!" questions.

Just took the dog out for nightly walk, pretty wild.. eyes are burning a bit. Definitely feel for anyone with asthma this week. .
