  1. Thank you kindly mister. What can I say, love me all-things numbers, and I know you do as well ha. Not surprised you found a ten minute period a little higher since you can use any time interval, whereas all the WU and ASOS stations I’m able to check have the predefined five minute intervals. Good stuff. Great setup! It looks like you’re out near New Holland eh? Always good to have some extra observations in Lancaster County, especially out that way. I was going to suggest WeatherUnderground as well but it looks like Bubbler got you all taken care of. Cheers mate!
  2. Was checking around a bit and a number of stations had ten minute periods where they saw .7-.8" of rain, pretty darn impressive.
  3. 2.0" on the nose for me. A nice little weather event. No flooding issues around here but have heard of a few in Lancaster City and of course York City where things were significantly worse. Lower levels are still quite saturated and I only dropped to a low of 73 last night. I don't see much in the way of precip the next couple of days outside of some spotty activity. Guess it's time to see if Henri is gonna smack Cape Cod.
  4. Another night of close lightning strikes. Impressive storm. Have a buddy near Mountville well over 3”.
  5. Wow in the middle of it now, what a storm! Just sheets of water, a complete gutter gusher! Winds not too insane though.
  6. Me neither but I'm assuming some type of tornado probability graphic??
  7. Hey congrats, that's bigtime! What a freeing feeling. I run my days from AM to AM (similar to the Cocorahs folks), since I manually check the cylinder gauge each morning. It used to be at 6am sharp everyday and now it's more like 7-8am. My two-day total is only .37". Don't think we're gonna get a whole lot from Fred but I have my eye out for some severe potential.
  8. .31" for my daily total. Fitzgerald with a pretty weak write-up for CTP's AFD this morning but at least they still mentioned a bit of what @Newman was talking about. What's become of me when I'm calling out NWS forecasters by name, a new low for Snowman haha. Strong low to mid level flow, combined with a moist tropical airmass, could yield a few storms that possess transient supercell structure this afternoon. The primary severe wx threat will be localized damaging winds and an isolated tornado, primarily along and to the east of the track of Fred`s remnants.
  9. Excellent info Newman! It's funny you bring all that up about the tropical systems to the west and whatnot because I was having the same thoughts, how even if we are likely to miss out on the main slug of precipitation we'll be in a prime spot in the warm sector for some discrete severe potential. Certainly worth keeping an eye on. Excellent analysis with the Skews and Hodos, big double thumbs-up for you sir.
  10. .06" here in lovely Farmdale. Looks like the best totals associated with Fred will be west or north of my area. Gonna be more hit or miss around here.
  11. Oh my, now you got me thinking......Bubbler is Snowman, Snowman is Bubbler! *for the Ace Ventura fans out there*
  12. Agree with the focus being west of our area but we should still get in a couple good tussles with the rain gods.
  13. Fun week ahead, someone in the mid-state will cash in bigtime. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for central Pennsylvania. .DAY ONE...Today and tonight. Locally heavy rain could produce flooding in a few spots across central Pennsylvania late today or tonight. The area most likely to see torrential downpours will be the Laurel Highlands into the central mountains. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday. Thunderstorms could produce flooding in a few spots Tuesday afternoon, mainly over the eastern half of Pennsylvania. The remnants of Tropical Storm Fred may bring additional heavy downpours and the threat of localized flooding on Wednesday.
  14. Thanks Voyager! Ah yes the Sloppy Secondz boys haha. It's coming back to me now. Actually, this is the video I was thinking of, the Katy Perry parody. Classic......
  15. As someone who has a fascination with all things small-town PA, that was glorious. Nice focus on Lancaster County at the end there too. Hey, are these the same dudes (believe they were from Sunbury) who had that viral video years ago "Pennsylvania Guys" or something like that?
  16. A measly .03” for me yesterday. Time to enjoy a beautiful summer weekend.
  17. Yeah it just never really got going here, looks like only a few hundredths in the gauge for me. Side note, wife and I started watching The Queen’s Gambit last night. I’ve heard good things. Anyone else give it a watch?
  18. The highest I could find in my notes was from 8/13/16 when I hit a temp of 98 and a dew of 80 for a heat index of 119. I'm sure there was a little home weenie station error in that but still......anyone else have anything crazy from that August 13th date, or any other date for that matter?
  19. I topped out at 95 yesterday and bottomed out at 67 last night, got only .03" rain as most of the action slid by me. As others have mentioned though, a nice light show. One more day of extreme heat then we see some relief. Hang in there folks, and find some water to play in.
  20. Oh I completely agree. Sadly, I wonder how intently these stations are being monitored half the time. Sometimes it takes someone from the public (e.g. Horst) having to point it out to them for it to even be noticed, which shouldn't be the case. So, I just checked all the WU stations directly surrounding the airport and yeah, they have all gotten 2.5"+ the last couple of days haha.
  21. KLNS is having issues. Clearly not able to collect rainfall correctly at the moment. I have multiple friends who live basically right by the airport and it completely trounced that entire area. The station is just malfunctioning in some respect, which it is know to do from time to time. Horst has pointed it out to them a couple times over the years as well. Anyway, I got .54" last night. Loving these summertime storms but man this heat today and tomorrow is going to be stifling, and my dad has me power washing for him tomorrow ugh.
  22. Should be perfect for you down there, enjoy! I'm off to the pool this afternoon, not as good as the beach but I'll take it.
