  1. Today was the first day where the normals are 83/64, which is the highest they go. They’ll stay at 83/64 until the 28th, then it’s all downhill.
  2. Is it a paid gig or volunteer? I know there’s big money in climate denial these days, but I ain’t doing it for free.
  3. Oh, pretending you’re all official and shit. Cute.
  4. I don’t have an issue with you having multiple weather stations, I have an issue with you using “we” (plural) when talking about yourself (singular).
  5. You didn’t catch it in time on 6/22. I’m imagining your face as you went out there and said “oh shit it’s already at 91”.
  6. I mean, you’re (plural) admitting you (plural) have a feature on your (plural) weather stations that doctors the temperatures, so this doesn’t surprise me.
  7. Why does it only happen on days that are on track for 90?
  8. A little curious here, you identify as a “we”?
  9. @ChescoWxcan you explain why your weather station completely defies diurnal temperature trends and consistently stalls or drops a couple degrees between noon and 1pm, especially on days when getting to 90 is a threat?
  10. Regardless, we can say with 100% certainty that at least one hourly record (8am) and maybe others were set this morning.
  11. 6am was 81 on that date in 2012, 80 on 6/23/24, and 80 this morning. 7am was 80 in 2012, 80 on 6/23/24, and 81 this morning. So we very likely tied the 7am record less than three weeks ago and broke it today (assuming the 82 at that hour on August 5, 1989 is as invalid as the other readings from that summer).
  12. I believe that’s an error. I eliminated that day and there was a similar error on the day after as well. Highly unlikely it was in the 90s at 9am.
  13. I know there’s an ongoing severe outbreak going on in central PA so I hesitate to ask, but just out of curiosity, why on every single day with a chance of 90s does your wx station’s temperature consistently stall or drop a degree or two between noon and 1pm?
  14. PIT gusted to 47 on the hourly obs and AGC gusted to 48 on the previous hourly obs, so this has verified.
  15. I think 90 is a guarantee but there are plenty of clouds upstream associated with convection ahead of a cold front in eastern Ohio, so it’s a race to see how hot we can get before those clouds and the front get here.
  16. PIT has already reached the high of 87 that the NWS point and click was forecasting.
  17. And there it is. 83 at PIT at 8am, an all time record for that hour. Also a heat index of 87, which is also the highest on record for 8am.
  18. As a reminder, the warmest temperature ever observed at Pittsburgh International at 8am is 82. It’s at 82 and rising with a half hour to go.
  19. We might have to wait for the climate report to be issued on this one, but odds are looking pretty good. Now going on 2 hours of consecutive 5-min obs of 90, though the hourly was 89. Edit: once again hit 91 on the hourly obs, so it’ll be another official one.
  20. All 7 of our 90s this year have been 91 or better. Edit: today’s high will likely be 92, which is the 6th day this year to reach 92 or higher.
  21. Would be surprised if we didn’t touch 90 at some point in the past hour. Every 5 minute obs since 2:40 has been a rounded 90.
  22. Calling it on the 8th of the month - a 13th consecutive above normal month is in the bag.
