  1. @dendrite that Tornado warning has got to be near your parent's place iirc
  2. This must really suck for people spending their Saturday night camping out over quite a large area.
  3. Couple of strikes close enough to hear but still dry. Almost completely still out there.
  4. Sunapee has a good rep for snowmaking and grooming in NH too. For people who want predictable corduroy surfaces on cruising trails it is good.
  5. That's pretty exciting in terms of season's passes. I've got local day/night covered (Crotched/Sunapee). Weekender type places in Mt. Snow, Attitash/Wildcat, and Stowe, and then Vacation worthy places out west. Last time I was in S. Lake Tahoe I only went to Heavenly a couple days because the day ticket rate is so high and it was hard to find any vouchers (and the snow conditions sucked).
  6. https://www.cbsnews.com/video/siberia-pleistocene-park-bringing-back-pieces-of-the-ice-age-to-combat-climate-change-60-minutes-2019-07-07/ Interesting piece. They are arguing that the loss of the Woolly Mammoth and other large animals in that area caused forest growth which traps heat and helps melt permafrost.
  7. The 98's I picked up seem like a good compromise for all conditions you might encounter in NE. If I didn't like to snowboard on legit powder days I might be interested in a wider ski.
  8. Should be a clear standard for this. I'm a fan of the ruler in the snow at the end of the storm, but that is clearly not ideal for long duration or major snowstorms. I feel like adding a disclaimer that my measurements are for entertainment purposes only.
  9. Another 3" overnight.. I'm calling it 16" total. Only cleared once (before the last 3")
  10. meh'd may way to 12"+ I think @dendrite will do well with the 14" at kcon
  11. Someone in Bow reported 15" with 8" in 3hr. I took a nap and didn't go out there yet, does look like quite a bit more now.
  12. Got unlucky this time, I'm at 8". Just saw spotter in Candia got 21" that's only about 15 mi east of here.
  13. Finally into the good radar returns here. Was dumping for the weenie drive. 7" so far. Just noticed right across the river ~5mi away in Pembroke reporting 14".. crazy gradient if we're both accurate
  14. Time to go vote in local election. Good excuse for a weenie drive.
  15. I didn't venture very far from the door so it's possible there was some drifting too.
  16. 6" now. Flake size increased and it's accumulating very well last hour or so.
  17. looks like 16" Norwich CT (social media) and 19" Milford MA (trained spotter) are the biggest reports I can see now.
  18. Good stuff dying right on my doorstep.. Still a decent storm so far.
  19. Near white out at times now when winds are right.. Measured 3.5"
  20. Radar looking very healthy for I95 area of S. Maine up to Portland.
