  1. They've actually been fun to watch this year, with the trick being to watch all the high draft picks bloom into stars rather than focusing on wins/losses. Also focus on the fact that those losses could land us the kid from Duke next year.
  2. Only item I would add to this is, this is the first season that Jackson's jumbo contract is in place which affected their ability to adequately fill the holes left by the departures of Clowney and Queen. This will only get worse as his salary expands even further in the years ahead. Unfortunately we may have seen the peak of what the team can do. Honestly, the Commanders are potentially in a much better position in the next few years compared to the Ravens in that they have a terrific quarterback on a rookie contract. That could prove to be a winning combination for teams in the coming years unless rules are changed to bring down the importance of the QB position which have driven up the salaries for QBs on their second contracts to astronomical heights.
  3. Nothing is sticking, but witnessing the fattest flakes I've seen in the past 4 years in Towson.
  4. Had my first coffee on the back patio without slapping mosquitos morning of the season.
  5. If you told me up front the number will be 16" for the season, count me in the group that would rather have 8 events of 2" snowfall rather that 2 events of 8" snowfall.
  6. If you're in the I95 corridor watch for slowing of the storm correct? The more it slows the more it will be pushed east and the more it speeds up the more it pushes west?
  7. Next question, is the line behind it going to fizzle after sundown? I suppose that at least the cooler temps will allow for some watering in the early morning without fear of it instantly evaporating.
  8. Looks like a dry slot is forming near Germantown that will go right over Columbia and Baltimore. Man I needed some rain in my yard and looking like almost nil.
  9. I'm not overly concerned about the daytime heat, but the evening heat is killing me. In years past you could always count on being able to enjoy the evenings even when it was oppressively hot that day. This year seems different. 85 degrees at 10pm is unnatural.
  10. With my project management background I try to look at the big picture, and to me it seems like there are micro and a macro trends going on here. The micro trend that the mid Atlantic is warming meaning so called marginal events are more likely to be rain rather than snow is completely plausible to anyone who follows science. That however doesn't explain why places much colder and north of us are having horrible snow winters as well, that seems to be a macro trend that doesn't necessarily have to do with whether it was 28 or 35 degrees here. Seems like when the macro trend resolves itself we'll get our snow here as well as other places, just maybe with a lower baseline to account for the various marginal events per season we'll start to lose out on because of local micro trends in temperatures. Hence my view that it will still snow here, eventually.
  11. Winter Storm Warning for Baltimore just came through on my phone! First to cave will be Giant, then Weis, then.....
  12. Are the school districts going to catch up here or are we going to be getting 4am texts?
  13. Remember when we complained about how Roman running the ball cost us the playoffs? Those were the days!
  14. Yeah I spoke too soon. Street out front caved in a nanosecond of this. Might get .25 out of this if it lasts another half hour.
