18z NAM seems to develop a second slp off the NJ coast. Keeps snow in the area through tomorrow afternoon.

Might be some good news finally. Radar starting to fill in in SNJ, CC radar showing sleet deteriorating rapidly. Hopefully within an hour everyone is snowing. Question then remains how much longer and how heavy.

Getting reports of sleet now in NYC. This is getting worse not better.

Where is the 850 low right now? It looks like all the precip is pivoting around the dry slot in SNJ.

Racing towards NYC now. Some models were showing an East/West pivot so maybe the line will push down from the west who knows.

I’m telling you. This is showing no signs of changeover in my area. Probably won’t be until tonight and by then the heaviest precip will be done.

Last few frames of the cc radar and it seems like the sleet line is no longer moving south. In fact it looks like it’s retreating back north. Doesn’t look like we’re going to see a changeover near PHL for a while yet.

Not so sure how to read that? Is the yellow areas depicting sleet?

I had heavy sleet for an hour. Didn’t change over. We’ll see. Anyway the 12z HRRR is a riot. The slp actually moves SW from hour 27 to hour 35 from off the LI coast to just off ACY and it just sits and spins lol. It would be great if correct.

Yup. It’s just that I’m concerned we stay sleet or mix when the heaviest precipitation comes in a few hours. I know it will eventually change over but it needs to line up with the heaviest precipitation to get the big totals.

No way anyone in the PHL area is getting a foot unless this sleet changes over soon. Been nothing but sleet for 12 hours here just outside of NE Philly. We might get a 6” of sleet lol.

Riverside, NJ IP/S mix (mostly snow) 29F... windy. About 3-4” compacted down by last nights sleet.

Riverside, NJ (across from NE Philly) around 2”. Light to moderate snow 27F

12z GFS bullseye over Freehold, NJ. All of central NJ gets plastered.

The 12z gfs is a thing of beauty for Philly folks.

I also live directly across the river from Philly... Basically right across from NE Philly airport. Expecting 10-12” here.

Why does the GFS snowfall output on tropical tidbits look so much different (worse) then the output from the same run on pivotal? Even the r/s line there looks to go further north then the same run on pivotal.
