Yep, let go of hope for the coastal and accepted a simple clipper type event. Feel a lot better now. -

Assuming the Euro caves for the 12z suite with the coastal, we can still get 1-4 inches of fluffy snow Friday evening and cold temperatures that weekend. So we might miss out on a major storm but we can still enjoy what we get. -

Could we just make a stable setup that is not a long shot to get some good snow totals. Like an overunning event- 4,130 replies

I like your ideas, maybe through the nukes on the gulf stream to try and warm it up leading to better bombogenesis conditions. -

Definitely looks a lot better on H5 on multiple fronts compared to 6z. Hope these improvements reach the surface. -

Probably still going to have a good bit of the southwest energy left behind but an improvement over 6z. -

I would honestly count the NAM run as a win, probably a solid 1-4 inches area wide from the NS component. Moderate snow Friday night, what's not to love. -

DC snow hole shows up as the storm starts, would cause major radar hallucinations so the run seems legit.- 4,130 replies

Much better look as others have said but still a bit too far east, as @stormtracker said we need the trough to go neutral around the Mississippi but it looks like to me (tell me if I am wrong) that it goes neutral around Georgia.- 4,130 replies
