    Wow! What a band it starts all the way up in Reading and ends in Richmond. Also I think the northern end might shift a shift west which might let me in on the snow again which would be nice but mainly I am just happy for DC they needed this. When some people in DC wake up they are going to have a big surprise because this was un-forecast. We should never stress about snow maps and bands until they form it's just not worth it. What a Hail Marry shot.

    Wow just woke up and even though we are just outside the band that DC is getting I'm fine with it they needed it more than me and besides I still got 1/2 more of snow and it is lightly snowing with more to come. I got my heavy bands yesterday DC can have theirs.

    We are getting big fat flakes falling and 4'' on the ground really saved this storm.

    It was a joke because anytime someone buys stuff to deal with snow we get no snow.

    Wow looks like a solid 2-5 hours of good snow here surprised it did not break up.

    It looks good maybe even a good hour or two of significant snow.

    A little South of Reston the snow picked up but still needles but the band from the north might make it in some form. I hope it does.

    Welp looks like those nice bands in MD and PA are not going to reach me but we got a solid 3 hours of steady snow amounting to near an inch. Maybe some of those bands will still give us some moderate snow.

    We are so close to it and if it holds we get super heavy snow rates for hours and get several more inches of snow.

    Is any part of that band going to be able to reach down here in Fairfax county.

    Looks like snow banding is coming down from northern areas and will reach us and might combine with another band and then might push down to where I am. Also snow starting to lighten after 3ish hours of good snow coming down around another half inch to inch over those hours but the next part might be even better.

    Over the hour a little south of Reston it went from lighter precip after nothing to snow and sleet then mainly snow but small flakes and coming down heavy and then to snow with a mix of flake sizes and wind then to good flake sizes and good rates with wind. Also looks like this will continue for at least the next hour or so but I don't really know. The temp is 31 degrees.

    Whoever keep saying that the costal has surprises for us was right it looks like the radar is filling in and everyone else is switching to the snow camp.

    I think the snow is feeding back into itself for southern Fairfax Co and then moves to near where I am in Western Fairfax. Don't what what that means for me but with the good flake size and moderate snow it looks good.

    Even the treated and plowed main roads are getting snowy again with these bands.

    Wind picking up combined with pretty good snowfall rates and a mix of big flakes and icier flakes maxes it blowing into your face pretty painful still just happy we are finally getting snow bands here.

    Great radar fill in for Fairfax county with heavy snow coming down though the flakes are a bit on the icy and small side I will take it and we just passed 3'' on the ground.

    He Hey look I'm right under that bull's eye of four inches in Fairfax also moderate to heavy snow with pretty good flakes.
