  1. GFS and variants look borderline good for north country even into NW ME. Solid thump to dry slot/drizzle to upslope. Lots of moisture for pack augmentation. Would sign for that now tbh. Such a needle threader tho
  2. I guess we're keeping weekend discussion in this thread for fear of angering SNE non-skiers/sledders looks like 18z GFS and v16 are a touch west of 12z and bump up or maintain QPF across NVT and NNH (PFs aforementioned low level jet?). Weenie maps print roughly similar snow as 12z. Hopefully this is absolute paste topped off with some upslope fluff...or at least something lighter than paste. Right side up snow!
  3. A condo for a 2nd home type situation, sure. But if we're talking primary residence for an extended period of time, I'm trying to buy land and build. Having said that, not sure how much land is available in that area. This is a hypothetical exercise after all.
  4. Yeah it basically runs right up and over Phin into southern QC before slowly moving east. Great upslope signal but I'd be worried about dry slotting for a bit if I were him (not that he doesn't clean up either way). Regardless, countless runs left
  5. Less ideal track than GFS...but stronger
  6. Deep in Nebraska Notch in the Stowe area. ~200" per year, thousands of acres of BC skiing right out the door, 15 minutes or less to downtown Stowe/Waterbury and less than 45 to Burlington. Great MTB and golf in the area as well with awesome summers/relatively low humidity compared to down south.
  7. Decent upslope signal for the northern ski areas on the GFSv16? Looks like the low takes the Portland > north of Caribou route and is pretty slow to scoot out of there. 5+ days away and all that but in my limited experience that seems to be a pretty good track for the ol reach around snows.
  8. Drunk Uncle looks even better FWIW
  9. Well, maybe the spine would look a bit more snow caked, given a normal elevation gradient
  10. Was in Phin/Alex's hood this past weekend for an AIARE 1 course on Washington. Thank God the snow on 1/2 delivered! Would have been a bit miserable otherwise.
  11. radar showing solid echoes but checking on the cams, it seems as though only minor precip is happening throughout the region thus far
  12. Bummed to hear of all of these crowding reports. Stratton was very reasonable today. Nearly all lifts open and probably 60% of the terrain available. Longest lift line was 5 minutes and people seemed to be respectful with masks/distance etc. Still baffles me that nobody (relatively speaking) parks at the sun bowl base. Best snow and no lift line over that way as well.
  13. Dec 2015 was brutal. Still running WROD on Christmas at Bush with 0 natural OTG. Ski breaks became depressing staring at bare ground day after day.
  14. Not to mention being able to load online and not having to wait in ticket queues. Convenience on the part of the customer, cost savings on the part of the resort in many facets of the operation. Just requires patience. Though I couldn't believe the innumerable amount of complaints that first year at the Bush over having to spend $5 on a card...it was like, please believe us this will benefit you!
  15. Cardigan Saturday and Ascutney yesterday. Probably settled depths of 18" and 28" respectively so the reported measurements Thursday are to be believed! Snow was still remarkably dry and powdery.
  16. Anyone get out today? Heading to Cardigan in the AM. They reported 22" this morning at the lodge. Assuming that is with settling, the ski trails should be a go.
  17. Pictures I saw on social media today confirmed this phenomenon! But yes like you said, the correlation there exists for a reason.
  18. Yeah Thunderbolt was my original plan but have to figure somewhere north will be better. Ascutney or Cardigan will probably be good?
  19. Indeed, happy to have them as owners vs. the Glazers at United among others. Just finished the match...what an ending. Nearly a classic Mourinho team performance, definitely a classic Mourinho press conference In other news it is really coming down in Cambridge. Great storm so far!
  20. First flakes just now. Radar seems to be building back in slightly south of Philly to assuage that one poster's concerns.
  21. Nope! I always do my best to alert anyone who would spoil it for me that I am recording the match and to not bother to talk smack until the next day haha. Reds fan since 02-03. Its been quite the roller-coaster since the days of Milan Baros and El-Hadji Diouf but the last 4 years have been a blast. Just wish Stevie could've gotten one....
  22. Nice! I'm close to the intersection of Pearl and Putnam. Will do my best to get a few pictures up as the event progresses.
  23. Up to 29 in Cambridgeport. No flakes yet. Just cracked the first beer and have the Liverpool Tottenham game recorded to keep me occupied until the heavies move in....we'll see how late I can make it.
