  1. I have signs of schizophrenia but part of me wonders if HAARPA or whatever that outfit is called is fixin to drown me based on private conversations I’ve had with clairvoyant folk. I’m not Monica Lewinsky Seriously though my apartment is IN the river and I’m smack dab near the center of this upcoming action and the river has nearly flooded before this year, reaching a height that’s greatest since 2005
  2. The dry zone just arrived here. I wonder however; looking at the radar if it could potentially fill in, and I mean fill in long before the expected re-run of rain tomorrow. it has that counterclockwise appearance, I know that the notion of filling in could just be the wish-derived trick on my eyes
  3. It’s doing exactly what I imagined. It got more wetter by the time it got here.
  4. I poo poo low wind. I poo poo low rain. Deceptive storm come up coastal plane after I mock and blow me away to Oz.
  5. It reminds me of when I was in Des Moines on June 30 2018, 5-10 inches fell in just 60-90 minutes. Some people got killed with that one.
  6. Like 5 days ago I was reading the forecast discussion, and in the absense of imminent expected storms, I don’t habitually read that every single day. so I think on the 18th I read that “Henri passes us well to the south and goes out to sea but maybe heavy surf on the coast” I just dismissed it and didn’t go back to the forecast until I started seeing it all up in the news
  7. The rain is visibly organizing at the very least. I don’t think I’m in a very safe place because I’m IN the river but I’m not going to sleep until the storm is over and there’s a nice long urban hill with lots of side streets of which access is easy, it’s a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive
  8. Will the rain bands not grow expand in coverage when the waters have it slightly weaken? The models seem to think so
  9. I wonder if it will just be similar to last years tropical twisty twist that came onshore and lashed us with one whip of a single rain band, and some 30 mph gusts. I don’t want to undersell or underestimate though
  10. This model doesn’t seem to mind that, unless I’m misunderstanding, 35 per cent of models just took this and spat it out to the East!
  11. Is this really potentially going to miss us to the East? That looks really busty especially for today’s technology.
  12. Pre hurricane skies over Willimantic. It’s very humid. 2mph like breeze and it just feels… wet and bubbly
  13. Ok sure I hear ya. But will it not still bring lots of rain? Because these rivers is already kind of high today. Fred saturated things quite a bit. I feel like even a tropical depression, a slowing one, with sustained 25mph winds would be cause for concern in the area.
  14. If I traded it all if I gave it all away for one thing just for one thing. if I sorted it out. If I knew all about this one thing wouldn’t that be something.
  15. This was Elsa for us. Most of you know I live in this building. Most river energy runs parallel and safely passes us but you know, I’m not poo pooing this storm or taunting it.
  16. I’m not quite pulling the trigger on evacuating the region, I’m betting on shelter in place. But, I am taking this seriously. Last I checked minutes ago I am in Willimantic and I am in the NW flank of the storm. That is rain. with Elsa it brought our river, which I live IN, by the way, within a few feet of our window and it raced past. Yes I live IN the river. Not near it. TEXTILE mill.
  17. Yasss. Ground already white in willi
  18. Quickly changed over to snow this morning, starting to stick in patches on the dirt. half the models were suggesting a pocket of accum snow down into the northern half of Eastern CT but NOAA folks were rightfully conservative about that. But it’s happening! Cool cuz I wanted one last hurrah!!! That change to spring was abrupt. I hope nobody’s plants get f up
  19. Oh they do that. I always notice that when at a transition point in seasons, the ensuing weather changes frequenly arrive only 3-5 days out on a 10 day long term forecast, invalidating the previously predicted furthest 5 days beyond.
  20. Perhaps even a pigeon! I had considered reindeer or horse but the head wasn’t quite right
  21. The snow is melting and out front the melt has taken such a fashion as to sculpt the head of a dog.
  22. The amount of folks I saw on questionable looking ice here in CT surprised me and mom. Evidently they knew but it was like 38 out and stuff too
