  1. Over the years I have noticed this pattern on Google Maps… everywhere. And I mean everywhere at least in the US if not in the world. What does it mean? Wetlands?
  2. O yeah. This will totally happen. What percentage of clown storms at 350 hours verify? None? What are the reasons they exist that long in range? Climatic planning for business on overall patterns?
  3. Then I will have to return to defending my claims without the use of that map. dang fine print.
  4. I’m glad my eyeball on the snow amount I reported was verified. I was getting all panicky and paranoid when someone asked if I used a ruler. I thought I was being accused of overestimating or something. I mean we all sort of know what an inch is like because it happens a lot. But this was just a significantly heavier blanket than that and the grass blades did not stick up out of it.
  5. Everything. I’m relating to his experience almost verbatim. Those health measures were part of a solution that makes it much easier to not live unhealthy lifestyles such as daily heavy boozing. I can spell it out better I guess if people don’t understand. I have to take ADHD medication and medication for schizophrenia otherwise I experience what’s like having holes in my head that I will compulsively and unsuccessfully fill with whatever I can get my hands on. now I can actually you know, go to work and stuff.
  6. You probably saved your own life by giving that particular vice up. I’m not a doctor but Those “oddities” were probably caused by alcoholic hepatitis of the liver. And you don’t have to be an alcoholic to get that. You just have to drink a lot. I once drank very heavily for a year, and had trouble stopping. In the end I treat my mental health with medications and that reduced my need and cravings for things that endanger my health so I am doing a lot better today.
  7. By eye. I think it’s 1.75 to 2 inches. But that little amount of snow doesn’t look appreciable by photo compared to being in it. even when you get 6 inches often the photos don’t do it justice. the grass at my place was fully covered. It doesn’t do that with just an inch. But In any case that is why I said “about”. I didn’t measure it. I took a good look when I got outside. Saw complete coverage and how deep the footprints go and the meniscus at the vehicles and thought to myself “this is significantly more than an inch”. but check out this photo it shows how deep compared to the rails.
  8. I was very lucky to be in the narrow swath of snow. About 1.75 - 2 inches so far and expediting 1/4-1/2 inch more total. At first I put this in banter but I Deleted it to put here cuz more relevant.
  9. Is there ever a year where those provinces are starved of snow? Many places where Americans live are what I call “Typical” snowfall locations. I define that as any location that averages 20 to 45 inches of snow annually. Such locations alternate between snowy years and frustrating years of lacking. And there’s nothing you can do about it when you live there. Minding out possible future shifts in weather behavior, I just can’t imagine that Newfoundland is a location that EVER struggles with snowfall. I mean these places gotta get 100, 200 inches per year right? Not threatened by climate change. But Canada’s weather service is super foreign to me and I find that NOAA is superior to theirs. What with all that unoccupied land with scant routine observation. In other words, I have not studied weather in northeastern Canada.
  10. I wanted to buy the large and well-priced Yoplait yogurt case at Costco. But it wasn’t to be. I don’t like the flavors of the variety pack: Vanilla, Strawberry, and peach. NO. It’s gotta be Cherry, strawberry banana, and mixed berry.
  11. It’s flattening and the ridge retreats its northward extent for New England
  12. 00z NAM shows what looks like elevation discrimination by God, favoring elevated or even slightly raised locations away from the CT river valley. A situation of 1/2 inch of snow versus 1-2 inches. Overall model signals keep edging ever so slightly better for Connecticut for tomorrow. Or at least, more consensus of the 1-2 inch deal. Hey. I’m at 236 feet in altitude. And one time in 1992, that couple hundred feet was the difference between, like a foot and like an inch, of snow.
  13. Ohhhhh ok. Scallions. Scallops. I mean it sounds like the same thing!
  14. Most of these sound terrific. But Scallion Pie? You mean they make a pie out of mollusks? That sounds nasty nasty nasty.
  15. Just a few days ago we were crazed only about Christmas system. Tomorrow’s deal sort of just slipped in last second. And now the Christmas deal is poo. with patterns like this it’s exactly what I hope for. And it doesn’t happen all the time like that out here either. Out west it was common, however, to get a surprise inch from random snow showers in the winter. It would happen several times per year. But it doesn’t work quite the same in New England.
  16. What I really meant was for CT it suggests over an inch. Compared to others it’s nicer. I dunno if it means anything but it’s hope.
  17. 12z UK beefs it up a bit still compared to others but even that is slightly weaker looking over my house.
  18. Euro has central and northern PA and NJ being hammered in the long range. Think how easily that could shift east. It wouldn’t necessarily take a miracle I don’t think. It’s long range and it’s there. I like to think the warming trend is just an ugly mirage.
  19. Let’s cross our fingers for northeastern CT huh. Maybe surprise 4 inches.
  20. Here is where I can complain I suppose. So, I work 25 hours a week. I’m grateful to have a job. But it’s a 40 minute commute. Honestly; I feel like I work full time and like I’m “always there” It doesn’t feel like part time at 25 hours a week
  21. Good morning, all the maps looked like garbage for the 06z runs. i am operating hope based on the idea that the pattern “has to change” any moment now and that some system will bleed in through the invisible cracks of the long range like it can do. Because nothing looks good on those models
