  1. 03z RAP really offers generous dumps for most of us. No major losses implicated with that. maybe not widespread 30" but what are ya gonna do. and given trends over the last day... you never know we could be seeing those 25 and 30 inch populating in the 05, 06z etc if we get lucky magic.
  2. Snowfall rates have intensified, reaching "Moderate" intensity. 1/4 inch on the asphalt.
  3. Snow increasing in intensity gradually as of 10:33pm... 2/10 inch coating. It is still light snow technically.
  4. Technical warning area/county borders fascinate me. At my pinpoint location, It is a Winter Storm Warning. But if I were to go out and walk south for 15 minutes, That spot is across the county line and is a Blizzard Warning.
  5. light snow falling in Willimantic now. No antecedent dry air problem this time. She don't hold back. It is of note how moist the air has been today. And, this time last night the storm was not expected to hit until 2am. A better mood than at 1pm today with the bad Euro run. Starting my day at work with that, I told some people there were signs of the storm backing away and It is a good thing I got updated quickly by 3 because there are some people who make major decisions that affect multiple people with my reports because as bad as I look on this forum compared to Mets, I am useful for some laymen so they come back every time.
  6. For Newport I guess that surrounding waters and winds serve to further mess with ratios and that might be an additional reason Newport is a screw zone. Thats on top of topographical matters previously discussed. Its like island environment.
  7. Excuse me for not being more detailed, but on a micro scale elevation affects wind speeds. In my case, it is a shallow canyon that is oriented at a river that runs west to east, surrounded by higher ground on either N/S side, and sometimes it causes our property to jack.
  8. Guys, when you get a 20 inch snowfall in these conditions, what kind of drifting can I expect at 230' elevation here? The parking lot in front of our building is literally a crescent-shaped bowl below the main road, within the shallow canyon. Snow has seemingly maxed out in the lot before.
  9. Such a scenario really has popped up by some model runs in the past 24-30 hours... and faint outline of support for that scenario is still evident, note the maximum in central LI. Gotta expand that zone.
  10. I still remember the blizzard of 2005 when I was 20 years old in Providence. The storm ended I believe in the afternoon the following day. I still remember how everything was an eerie silence for awhile afterwords, that was soon followed by distant scraping and metallic sounds as people began to dig themselves out. On those radar images the inner Cape just gets decimated, while CT gets less intensity but higher fluff factor? Isn’t that inner cape stuff sort of a paste capable of collapsing roofs?
  11. We have climbed out of the lull from this morning right? I was horrified to start work when the 12z euro came out and put my phone away on a low note.
  12. Some y’all people messed with my head after freaking out on the 12 euro. I suffered for 2 hours at work unable to check my phone worried I was gonna end up with 6 inches. I didn’t tell people that but I did say there was some doubt. Now I’m on break and ha ha ha 18z NAM is back at its promising antics
