  1. Just no sign of letting up or getting lighter. same ~400 foot visibility as ever. Outright blizzard conditions.
  2. Heavy snow still falling in earnest. Wind-driven. I will measure in a while... its too tough to do all the time but I guess we have upwards of 10 inches or more.
  3. Heavy snow and Blizzard conditions to near the max
  4. We still have a long while of this left dont we? I have not seen the good radar lately but it seems like heavier stuff has backed into our area again.
  5. Yes! I think when the main death bands caught up to the stationary SE CT band it is pushing west past it back towards Tolland County. I think we will get it. Development and ripples looks good near and south of LI, pushing north towards CT. Of course since this progress is dependent on low position and behavior there are no guarantees. In the mean time, not possible to measure depth where I am at but average depth in empty parking spots between cars is 10". If I were to guess there is 7 inches on the ground overall.
  6. At the very least you can see RI filling in well.
  7. I don't know but im not certain the radar is exact to what I have going on on the ground, its pretty intense here right now. I also would like to think the NW movement of the heavy echos that are just now catching up to the stationary death band maximum over SE CT will push things back towards us for a bit. Radar movement can be tricky to decipher but it does look like good movement NW
  8. It is the perfectly appropriate adornment for the household at this juncture in the day. The maximum decoration.
  9. Poor Visibility… almost impossible to see the house across the river which is probably 400-500 feet away.
  10. Flake size increasing suggestive of death band merging in E CT
  11. HRRR is not consistent with this DEATH BAND intensifying in ET CT that has an edge which is backing west.
  12. I called out of work and so did my mom. I shan't be on the roads today and shall enjay hot cocoa. And while I was at it I told the managers they need to get out of there while they can. These guys likely have SUV's though, and they likely are not really working but its in SE CT and theyve been under an even heavier death band than us. Maybe some parts of W arent doing as well but these SE CT echoes are no joke.
  13. I don't know if I would call this whiteout conditions but visibility seems to be at about 1/8 mile or less.
  14. Oh hell yeah if these rates keep up we can make 18 inches or more.
  15. I think I am seeing a little of this effect here, as we are just barely within the goods on radar map. Being this close one hopes it can pivot back just a bit. As of now obs moderate snows. Decent rates but not the kind of thing you need for 25 inches!
  16. Rates now intensifying real good. Accums picking up.
  17. Hi, just woke up from my 4 hour nap. Good to see things still look up because we only have about 2-3 inches so far.
  18. I wonder does that sort of outcome mean snow ends in SNE early in the AM too? Or just lighter snow outside of the Deform? The idea of snow being gone by 8am or something horrifies me
  19. 1 inch on the ground as of 1:10am, snowing moderately. Not what I would call impressive rates but it is steady.
  20. Hopes remain lofty. At the very least, I expect not to have to go to work tomorrow. I would ordinarily be leaving at 10am. To be comfortable calling out I would want there to be at least 6 inches with intense snowfall rates with sketchy roads around 8-9am. I have called out for a snowstorm once this month so I am choosing wisely. (My job is NOT a serious job)
  21. As hoped, snowfall rates have intensified to a nearly satisfactory level. Given the current depth, close to 1/2 inch, I have determined the more-intense band moved in about 15 minutes ago (12:15am)
