  1. Just cleared the snowboard, 4.8" so far....No wind, trees are sagging quite a bit so far. I can see 10" being possible at this point, looks like the really heavy stuff is about to begin 31.4°/30°
  2. A nice moderate snow falling, everything is caked in snow, roads are all snow covered...beautiful outside, no wind too...1.9" on the snow board 5 minutes ago. 31.8°/30° in Newtown CT
  3. Moderate snow now, might be a 0.25" so far....paved surfaces just wet 32.1°/31°
  4. The one side of my house still has solid ice/snow from weeks ago and 3 inches from the past 2 storms.....anything with more than 3 or 4 hours of sun was gone
  5. Grass coated, roads wet...light snow continues 33.6°/31°
  6. Anything with sun melted...March sun is a killer....I had 3.5" and was all gone by early this afternoon.
  7. Light snow started around 4:50 pm....Hoping for double digits here, at least beat our total from November (8.3") 36.3°/30°
  8. Looks like 3 to 3.5", second largest all snow event all season....28.7°/28° Hopefully tomorrow night delivers
  9. I keep waiting for the last minute NW push or increase in precip on these models...but that doesnt seem to be happening, it has been steadily down hill since yesterday at 18z. I think 2-4 ends up being pretty common around here. At least the air isn't bone dry like it has been the past few days so it shouldn't take long to get the precip to make it to the ground.
  10. Interestingly enough the FV3 being the "snowy" model hasn't really gotten on board the whole time...might have been a red flag the whole time?
  11. Precip shield is south and east as well.....might end up being 3-6 for most
  12. I think we are solid....might as well start making our's official over Upton at this point
  13. Wow... That shuts out a lot of southern PA and central Jersey. Looks almost identical to the 6z Euro
  14. Nam used it's own rule and cut numbers in half. It hasn't had a steady run since it picked up on the storm so it is kinda hard to take seriously, plus it is the Nam beyond 6 hours....
  15. Yup...definitely room for some banding out here too, maybe we get lucky and share a part of that 8-12?
  16. Yeah, the schools weigh pretty heavily on those advisories it seems. They should come up with a school delay advisory or something. Despite having less than an inch out there, at 21 degrees the back roads are a sheet of ice...not good for busing children around.
  17. Lol, yup...more impactful to the commute this morning than yesterday's advisory we had. People around here don't seem to believe any forecasts anymore...its been a rough winter with "busts" on most of these nuisance systems.
  18. 4-8 for most of CT, a little less nw and a bit more to the east. I am sure there will be a band some where that could produce 8-12. If the storm develops earlier then maybe it becomes a region wide 8-12 inch storm... If its dumping snow in the northern Mid Atlantic tonight, then we should be good for some higher totals.
  19. Just imagine how much pain an agony would be going on seeing the 18z GFS, Icon, ect.....then having to wait until 1 am for the next EURO to see if the trend is real. Kind of like how the OP only goes out to 90 hrs, maybe NCEP should follow suit with the FV3
  20. 6-10 inches here, please can the GFS be right this time, please!
  21. That is a lot of moisture just offshore....becoming a nice cyclone earlier on is helping out, lets just keep the low where its at, too much and it will be parked right over Tolland
  22. Midlevel magic ftw here in wct...snowing moderately but the heaviest seems to be over now...
  23. Just hit 7 inches here, this band in wct is starting to move, but has been great while it lasted...31.4
