Not at home since this morning but cameras suggest a 2-3” snow? Mostly sleet in Winchester itself but a total mess. Accidents everywhere

Also notice to the west of the mountains. In a real cad setup those temps will often be 15 to as much as 20 degrees warmer than on the east side

Not really what I would call cad. We have a soso high very far to the north. Typically cad is wedged right up against the mountains. Notice those colder temps are basically right along the spine. True cad will show up further east and into the Piedmont areas of NC, Va and even northern SC. Winds will be out of the northeast at the surface. We don’t have any of that.

How this storm plays out greatly affects Tuesday -
GFS is wetter again here. I have no sounding at any point that would suggest anything but snow. I’m skeptical of a 5:1 snowfall ratio. One thing is obvious since last night though, the low track is decidedly more inland. As modeled.

Can’t help thinking that this event in Feb or March is a slam dunk with cold Atlantic waters

Agree. One mitigating factor is a southeast wind is an upslope wind for areas to the west. It would help to have that low actually be more toward the cost than it is currently modeled and to have that high closer to the U.S. border.
