  1. Baseball Statistic question here. Normally ERA is based on a 9 inning game. Any thoughts on if those 7 inning doubleheader games will calculate ERA differently? I know that most pitchers don't pitch 9 innings, or even 7 anymore, but just wondering how the formula might change because of this.
  2. @cape, you have those "spider" crickets where you live? We see them at the place in Bethany all the time. THey creep my daughter our big time.
  3. Thanks. Will try in the morning. Just missed the Walk-in line at Hagerstown by 30 minutes....they closed it around 3:30.
  4. I just called and they said that I was still in the pre-registration phase. I asked if i could change my primary location and was told that it would put me back at the end of the line. I'll be in Hagerstown today and might see if they have any wail ins available at the mass vaccination site at the outlets.
  5. pre-registered, but still waiting for the link to schedule an appointment. :-(
  6. Beal and Westbrook forced a ton of shots at then end, but that is the new NBA. Let your stars go one on one. Frustrating. Notice how when they took the 19 point lead that everyone was involved on the offensive end of the floor?
  7. i put some out last week as well. I'm also trying Oriole feeders this year and just put them out today.
  8. I let my kids listen to that a few years back. they were on the floor laughing! Might not be the best parenting move, but I felt like the cool dad.
  9. Totally agree. Since I started refereeing basketball last year, I have made it the point to let the officials do their job and only comment to myself. Yelling at them will only make them either miss more calls, or make the wrong calls. MY concern as well is around the safety of the players. Because he let a few things go the other night it was very chippy. With about 3 minutes left in the first half a player for the other team was called for a dangerous play in the box on a corner kick. He tried to heel kick the ball with his foot near player's head. At the time, the call was right and we were awarded an indirect kick at the 6 yard line. A few seconds later, the ref realized that our player was bleeding from the head because of the contact. Because of this new information, he could have given the player a card and change the result of the foul to a direct (penalty) kick, but didn't. The player couldn't play the second half because the bleeding never stopped, but could have been avoided if the referee had better control of the game.
  10. Anyone here ever eat Thuringer as a kid? I can't find it anywhere.
  11. There was a play in my son's game the other night where the opposing keeper came out cleats first and took the striker out.....no call at all. He did get a little of the ball, but the cleats first should have been a card. It's all about protecting the players....and Karma is real thing, we won 6-0.
  12. Definitely Yellow. Maybe Red since he made no attempt to play the ball and came in cleats first.
  13. "This is pure snow!' One of my favorite 80s movies....
  14. Sleeting 5 minutes ago mixed in with some deformed flakes. :-)
