Lightning kicking up in what will be the new core. Wish there was more data on how much of an indicator this was for ERC completion and reintensification in these intense storms. Usually this means intensification, but when they're this intense it seems to be more of business as usual.

Hey, what's the story on tornados as this thing unravels over Florida in a couple of days? Has there been any discussion of the threat?

A lot of lightning in the core, although with these intense systems I don't know how much of an indicator of additional intensification this actually is at this point.

Radar shadow? Given the amount of lightning in the core, there has to be a tremendous amount of hail in there screwing up the radar reflectivity.

Lightning firing all around the eyewall, looks like another round of intensification is under way or beginning.
