    Cool, thanks. JB has been touting it this season. If there's one place i expect AI to be better than humans it is forecasting weather. The model should be getting huge amounts of data every day to compare and contrast forecasts to.

    JB says GFS too far North for Saturday. He likes the direct hit for DMV, I think based on the AI model. Anybody know where to get that?

    34F and moderate rain in Calvert ..spring can't get here soon enough. Eta I'm sitting in my car leaving the gym just now and a few wet snowflakes are mixing in.

    Good, bring on spring. And 60s are respectable temps at least vs 40s and 50s which are crap. Looking forward to some sustained good days. Maybe once the Sistene Chapel period finally kicks in we'll be basking in 70s.

    The panic thread has been the most accurate of the threads for several years running. They should really just pin this one and let the LR thread languish because it's pretty useless as far as accurate forecasting goes.

    I'm out at deep creek right now meeting with builders. Drove by Wisp earlier today and lmao that's one pathetically sad looking ski resort right now. No snow around anywhere else other than the fake stuff on the immediate runs. I felt sorry for the skiers, like something out of Jamaican Bobsled. But yeah, no coat needed for this trip.

    Glaciers never made it this far down - DC couldn't even achieve snow town status during an ice age. Total failure.

    Isn't that pretty much what we always do? Usually that's the only timeframe to see a storm anyway.

    I imagine the halcyon days of the weather forums, when only Very Serious People(tm) were allowed to make a thread and when one was posted up, VSP's called in sick to work, abandoned their spouses and children and really went to work analyzing the model outputs via manually-performed tensor calculus for days on end. Finally presenting their findings to the other VSP for peer review and submittal to NOAA for official forecast consideration.

    No that was off the euro weeklies into third week of Feb. Eta, he still likes the pattern and just a couple hours earlier posted up about 2010 similarities...so he's got his bases covered.

    Well JB just posted up that he doesn't like the weakening block and the highs heading over Siberia on the latest runs. That's about as good of a contrarian signal as we can ask for - lock it in.
