    Should tilt the boundary layer up-axis of the main vort swinging down, I see it as a good thing. At the very least it'll increase denridation at the lower levels so at least we have that going for us.

    Just watched JB's atmospheric avenger. Gotta give the guy credit, he pulled the maps from 64 out of his ass and it's an uncanny resemblance. Not sure how he does that.

    Remember under to all those homeowners to check their outdoor hose spigots and disconnect the hoses before the deep freeze!

    WeatherBug has has snow chances for SoMD for a couple days now for next Monday. A good sign. We leave our DC home and head back to Calvert Wednesday and I need to take the pond pump out and replace it with the air bubbler before the deep freeze kicks off. I've ruined two expensive pumps by waiting too long in the past and having them freeze up.

    We had a moderate snow shower down here just a bit ago. Only lasted maybe ten mins and no accumulation but at least it was something.

    This is no joke, I swear. Last night I dreamed that somehow the jet stream oriented itself so that it was running directly from Mongolia right over the pole to us. I was like a Cassandra telling people to be ready for record cold but my neighbors didn't believe me. Unfortunately I woke up before anything happened but it's gotta be a sign for something.

    If you're a WB subscriber JD did a number of good posts on the PDO this year and you can probably go back and find them. Going off memory I think the general theme was another 4-7yrs before it could be expected to flip.
