  1. The forecast for the holiday weekend looks warm.
  2. 93 at home. We’ll see how the storm coverage is today compared to yesterday.
  3. The 5 minute reports are converted and rounded. In other words, don't trust those due to rounding.
  4. Beautiful CG in the south Beltway cell
  5. Small storms just popping and sitting. Over an inch just south of Reston.
  6. High on the year at home. 95 DCA river winded.
  7. It is hot, but it isn't unusual. That said, a long string of 90s can have a cumulative effect on the environment and the psyche. We'll see if we can at least get that break Sun/Mon before we go back to the heat. 91 so far at home. Looks like DCA is 89 or 90 based on the 5 minute obs.
  8. 12z GFS goes out 16 days. 12z Euro 10 days. Neither of them have a high under 90 for any day.
  9. 0.36”. Better than the 0.01” that the HRRR insisted I was getting all day yesterday.
  10. That sun is wicked. 88 at home. 87 at IAD. 84 with a river wind at DCA.
  11. Euro has ramped up the heat next week. 90+ in DC starting Monday and culminating in a 99/97 combo next weekend.
  12. More tree debris today from the synoptic wind than the week of "severe" weather.
  13. 2010-2012 really screwed with our understanding of what a normal June is like.
  14. What, you don't like "poor lapse rates" and limited instability. Tough to please
  15. Its funny, I'm on reddit but I have never ventured into any of the weather boards. I get my fill here and on twitter.
  16. NAM nest keeps spitting out a nice supercell in the vicinity of DC on Thursday.
  17. Yeah, you guys have been in a good spot today. We are going to have a nice swath of 3-4” over two days south of 50 stretching back towards Clifton. I’m still under an inch on the two days.
  18. The Annandale to Baileys areas that got hit yesterday are raking it in against today.
  19. No wind or thunder here, but that is a healthy rain coming down.
  20. If you are about the kitch, then the Corn Palace in Mitchell is a must-do.
  21. RT 50 was the dividing line inside the VA Beltway. 1-1.5” to the south (~1” at DCA), much less to the north. 0.27” at home.
  22. Yeah, that looks like a downburst. Lots of boundaries sitting out there now.
