    Back to small flakes here, but that heavy band got me to 1.5" or so. Would love to squeeze out a few inches, we shall see, but it's looking beautiful out there with what I've got. Been too long!

    Yepper, just went through a heavy band of sleet where I am in Brevard and now a lull. That band is the first I've seen compaction, can see the sleet divets in the snow now. Hoping for the change back!

    Finally measured, sitting at 10.5" in Brevard. For the most part, it's been tiny flakes the entire time, I'm impressed with accumulation. It took a break, but it's been rock steady since I got up at 5.

    Hardest it has snowed yet here in downtown Brevard. No idea how much is on the ground, been busy cooking a big ol pot of Bolognese in case the power goes out, but we're gonna call this one a success. I do hope we avoid the freezing rain.

    I work from home, and it has been a serious challenge getting my assignments in on time this week. I've worn out the refresh button lurking here, always have it open in a different tab. Thanks to everyone as always for your analysis, it's a pleasure to read and learn, and I'm excited for the shindig to start.

    I'm looking forward to it. Have been vegetable gardening for many years, but just got a little hoop house last year, and it's been incredible for seed starting. I'm going to inventory my seeds this weekend, place my orders as needed, and consider germing some greens.

    Hope we dodge the worst of the ice, though I'm a little afraid IMBY. We'll see. Gonna buy a genny one of these days. I feel like we're due for a bad one, whether I want it so or not. also, ^ the horse comment cracked me up. I've always loved horses from afar, but I recently went down a rabbit hole reading how difficult they are are to take care of through the years with various health irregularities, and was a bit astounded.

    Hey y'all, I was wondering if aside from your own gauges, if there was a website or other resource for WNC localities that listed rainfall totals each year? I feel like I always end up playing Google-fu for far too long trying to find it for Pisgah Forest/Brevard, and perhaps it's as easy as NOAA and my search terms are failing me, but alas. Friends who aren't locals are often incredulous that it rains as much as it does here, and I like to have the stats to back it up.

    Certainly the prettiest snow I've seen all year here, I'm happy. Maybe an inch and a half here, haven't measured, haven't cared to yet. Just watchin' it fall.

    Been following the ups and downs today, seems like deja vu with my lurking the past few years, watching the overnight models trend badly the next day. Probably a whole lot of confirmation bias there though. Apologies for the IMBY comment, but that's what I'm good for when I do chime in — I'm just hoping for more than a dusting here, too many teases this winter. Some winters we get pounded here in the southern mountains near the escarpment, and others it seems like NWFS dominates and we get flurries. So far this has been the latter—the kind of winters I remember in school in the late 90s. All the northern counties getting snow days, me huffing and puffing and hitting the books. Anyway, good luck everyone! Hopefully the models come in a little better for all of us overnight.

    Around 2" IMBY. Little disappointing, but still happy with what we got. Snow has been coming down consistently all morning, but it's been light to moderate and hasn't added up to much. Hoping we can get a heavier burst before all's said and done to get the tops of the grass covered....may be a tall order though, I was pretty lax with whenever I did that last mow of the season.

    Finally flipped here in North Transylvania. Good rates right now, doesn't look like it will last, but glad to see it!

    Doubt we're going to cash in in Transylvania with this type of event (holding out hope for a little!), but excited for all of y'all and my friends in Buncombe/Haywood/Madison.

    Haven't actually measured here, but looks close to a half inch. A little disappointing, but expectations were low, and with this winter...anything is nice. I'm just glad it finally stuck enough to get the trees/ground white. My seed order came in the mail, so I'm planning for the vegetable garden this weekend...I figure once I start doing that, we'll end up with the late season cold snap. Hope everyone enjoyed what they got!

    I'm about a mile or three northeast of the North Transylvania Fire Department, towing the line between Pisgah Forest/Etowah/Mills River.
