  2. Storms firing up already near Mansfield/Ashford area
  3. Look at WINY Radio on FB, they have posted a bunch from Pomfret, Eastford, and Ashford
  4. Yeah, I don’t miss that. Just hoping you guys dry out as we head into Aug.
  5. Flooding in Eastford/Ashford area the worse since 1938; that area clearly needs no more rain. I believe the Mt Hope River in Ashford flows down to Mansfield dam which I assume is getting pretty high.
  6. Not good at all! Hope this misses NE CT or there will be some major Hydro concerns
  7. What stream runs along Rt 89?
  8. Picture from WINY Radio from Eastford earlier during the storms
  9. I heard them go out for a few basement pumps and I think Ashford has a bridge washed out
  10. Saw these posted this evening from I-395 in the Webster area when then line dropped over the MA/CT line; scud??
  11. Seasonality, we spiked at the same time last year. People in the southern states tend to spend more time indoors June-Sept , similar to Nov-Mar up north.
  12. @powderfreakanother Woodstock special for you
  13. Cases on the rise down here in FL, but this is like Dec through Mar in the northern states where a lot of people are indoors down here from the heat and afternoon storms. I expect any spike to level out down here in the Sept/Oct time frame
  14. Coming north in Sept with friends from FL who have never been to NE; looking for some tips for day trips from ORH area, can be to S VT, NH, ME might be a stretch. 2 12 year old girls and parents who like historical sites along with breweries. Already planning a day in Boston to do theFreedom Trail and maybe Fenway tour Any suggestions welcomed
  15. Good thing the tropics have quieted down, Saharan dust should keep things quiet the next two weeks. One good thing that came from the 1955 floods were the Army Corp Dam system from Brimfield and Oxford Ma right through to Thompson CT.
  16. Hope the GFS is wrong for the weekend, more rain for those who don’t need it.
  17. While you down take a ride down Rt 198 to Chaplin and just before the Fire Station on Left is Diana’s Pool; there and the West Thompson Dam pretty neat places when there is high water.
  18. Weird, shouldn’t that spin here off the FL East coast be at least a TS given recent classification?
  19. Is 1955 an analog for this summer? Got to be a little concerning for those with 10+ since 7/1.
  20. Follow Rt 198 south through Woodstock and Eastford into Chaplin and Diana’s pool is on the left just before the Chaplin FD. I believe it’s the Natchaug River that flows behind the campgrounds in Eastford to Chaplin
  21. I did a swift water rescue training in 2012, it was a great location for it. One of the hidden gems in Eastern CT
