  1. Waiting for the 0.02” of rain to dampen the dust and then watch people think it’s ok to start burning leaves and brush again because of a shower
  2. The “showers” we may receive tonight do nothing for the fire threat, winds and warm temps tomorrow dries up anything that falls.
  3. Currently a structure fire at the clubhouse at CT National Country Club in East Putnam CT. Heavy fire in the basement and main floor of the building
  4. 33F this am, and bone dry outside, no dew. A couple of the brush fires I have worked we have found it burning 6-8” deep running the root lines. The larger fires around will burn for a few weeks and travel underground until we get a soaking rain
  5. 45F for the low and brush fire already started here in E CT this am; Franklin CT has one on a hill top near Ayer Rd, not accessible by ATV’s.
  6. Down to 42 this am, lawn is crisp like the leaves that litter my yard. When we had all the rain the last two years I assumed we get into a dry pattern last winter, turns out it showed up this fall.
  7. Not even a trace, had enough sprinkles to barely dampen the driveway, back to Stein and Burn
  8. Down to 46F off a high of 84F, weeeeeeee!!
  9. That’s the thing, a strong Cat 1 to Cat 3 would do significant tree damage in New England and frankly people are not prepared for the most part to be without power for more than a day. My time living in S FL most people had hurricane supply kits and the state offered 2 tax free weekends before and during Hurricane season to help with planning.
  10. Difference with elevation, I was down to 45F here in the Quinebaug Valley in E CT
  11. First 20’s of the season, down to 29F here in the Quinebaug valley here in E CT; bring on the torch!
  12. 33F here in E CT, brush fire threat increasing this week?
  13. Only 0.09 since yesterday; Stein winning out down here with another nice week ahead and 70’s next week?
  14. 48F and a thunderstorm, did not have that in the cards for today. .004 so far
  15. Down to 33F this am in E CT before the clouds moved in; question is do we see rain this far south and what will the temps be?? Ryan working the morning shift today think some rain possible into C CT
  16. Good call yesterday, and while we need the rain I will take the dry weather until misery sets in
  17. Down to 33F this am in E CT
  18. Crazy day tornado wise in my old area in FL, 11 touchdowns in Martin County and 17 in St Lucie County alone; and these were not the usual low top spinners we normally see there will be a few EF2 and EF3 tornadoes
  19. Crazy amount of tornadoes in my old area (Martin/St Lucie Counties); have been through 3-4 Hurricanes in my years there and never tornadoes like this. Will be fatalities in St Lucie County from this outbreak
  20. Should there be concern this morning, if we don’t start to see noticeable shifts north and east in movement of Milton. Areas south of Sarasota down to Punta Gorda could still be in the path.
  21. .26” here in E CT yesterday, not a lot but enough to dampen the dust down for a bit. We were down to 41F this am, seasonal
  22. EPS members have some southern tracks, is this a trend or outlier?
  23. Do you still think there is a chance this LF’s south of Tampa?
  24. Radar looks meh so far this am, but should fill in?
