Look at the slow deterioration of clouds over LI. I prayed to the gods

I thought for sure it would be cloudy all day with that satellite imagery but the south shore of LI is really kicking those clouds back. Why is that happening?

My area is right on the line of clouds and sun. Clear skies right above me cloudy to my western sky
