  1. Yeah I agree. Operating my own weather page, I see all the time how the general public thinks the models are so terrible though...it irks me because they just dont understand what goes into these models and how difficult it is to model a chaotic atmosphere
  2. I personally think its pretty incredible that we can model the atmosphere in any way....and yes like you said, its pretty darn accurate for the most part inside 48 and even 72 hours. Its usually the interpretation where things kind of go wrong in my opinion. To expect a model to be accurate a week or 2 weeks in advance may not ever be reasonable in my opinion
  3. Yeah I was gonnna say its pretty much identical to the GFS
  4. Yeah its a real thread the needle situation....Has to be nearly perfect and I think even then, top end potential is 2-4" for most of us
  5. Better but not quite....still question the marginal cold air mass anyway even if it did manage to get there
  6. GFS a bit more organized but still not quite gonna get there
  7. Its cool he does his little charity thing and what not but otherwise hes such a tool
  8. Some reports say his Daughters were with him
  9. I’m sure it was. Probably was flying low and didn’t realize the elevation change with the fog
  10. Yeah, I guess I’m just not sure how much potential this really holds even if everything does go perfect. What’s the top bar here? 3-6” of wet paste?
  11. Even with the perfect track, it looks like a lot of white rain to me
  12. We waited about 2 hours and 45 mins for it last November. About an hour in line outside and 1 and a half hours inside. It worked out perfectly though because a storm was coming in the horizon and we got inside just as it started raining. Getting soaked waiting in line almost 3 hours would have been unbearable lol
  13. I would feel a lot better if we had an arctic air mass in place. It’s a reason to look at every model run the next few days, so I’ll take
  14. Yeah, same but I was more of a earth science, geography kinda guy which is what my actual degree is in.
  15. Yeah, lots of calculus, physics based calc, chemistry. I unfortunately couldn’t get thru it.
  16. Eh. Verbatim pos tilted trough, looks like a glorified frontal passage to me. I’ve seen how those play out
  17. Right direction but another run that shows how marginal and thread the needle the situation is. Too far off the coast and you don’t get the rates and dynamics necessary to create the cold for snow. Too close to the coast and we torch enough for rain. Will be interesting to track next few days at the least
  18. Probably slightly suppressed but it moved in a good direction, that’s for sure
  19. Looks like GFS will have a storm this time let’s see where she goes
  20. Somehow the Icons snowmap isn’t as impressive as it looked lol. Perfect run but still shows the problem of a very marginal cold airmass
