  1. Heat advisories up for the southern portions of the region. well up into PA too But nothing for most of us.
  2. Hot day means a slow day at the park but it’s really not unbearable with the relatively low humidity. Not desirable of course but not oppressive. Tomorrow and Monday shall be a different story I suppose but I’ll be inside the AC
  3. True. No kids here, just a needy girlfriend and an attention whore dog. They try to keep me straight though.
  4. Yes I imagine it’s been very difficult for addicts, although I guess I could consider myself an addict to some degree. My body was forcing me to make a change though, I’m glad I listened to it
  5. Gotcha. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was truthful to some degree. Carbonation/acidity in beer messes up the insides and then add High abv to it. I mostly prefer beer but I do have a bottle of basil Hayden that will eventually be used to make manhattans and old fashioneds. When I decide to drink a little bit again of course
  6. Beautiful summer day at the park today. This is what summer should feel like. Warm but not oppressively humid and a nice breeze coming from what I would guess is the west.
  7. Awesome man! Good for you! Yeah, my health numbers that I’m aware of were never too out of whack (I’m only 32 though) however, I could just feel that I wasn’t well. Heart rate was very jumpy, I was always lethargic and tired after drinking even if just 3-4 beers the night before, I just couldn’t handle it anymore. So I started doing no alcohol and just a better diet. For the first 10-14 days I still felt kind of crappy (body may have been in shock from the abrupt stop in alcohol lol) but over the last week I feel much better and my heart rate has really responded beautifully. I don’t do any sort of special exercising either, really just the no alcohol and a better diet has done it for me. Good story man, keep it up! I look forward to occasionally drinking some again (I have about 50 various beers in my fridge) this is a good opportunity to let the stouts age until winter though haha, but I hope this will have helped me learn moderation when I do drink again.
  8. A couple people on here may know I love beer and that I recently am doing a 30 day no alcohol challenge along with food diet, I just want to quickly tell my story in case anyone else wants help... So since I’ve been doing this 30 day no drinking alcohol and diet thing I’ve been doing (day 20 by the way) the biggest difference other than the weight loss which is now 19 pounds is the change in my heart rate. Assuming Fitbit is somewhat accurate, my resting heart rate has went from the upper 60s to around 70, down to a new low of 56 today and I don’t have as many spikes in heart rate in just doing simple activity. Anyone who knows me knows I’m not a health freak by any stretch but it was time to do this 30 day thing and hopefully when I do decide to start occasionally drinking again, it will have helped me learn moderation. Anyone who’s looking to lose a little weight and just be overall healthier, I encourage you to try the 30 day no drinking and better eating plan! If you have any questions I’ll be happy to try to help! #NewMe #HealthierMe #2020sBeenWeirdButNotSoBadForMe!
  9. I think I’m in the Canadian camp with this one...I think most of the activity stays offshore and the system doesn’t get organized enough to have such an organized band of precip to the west of circulation. Would have to be some significant changes in next 24 hours in the structure to really pound the shore like some models are showing. Just my opinion
  10. Thanks. You as well. Yeah, I’ve picked up some interesting stouts of late. A cookie dough aged in willet barrels imperial stout at 12.8, a couple Goose Island imperials, a Norwegian imperial stout and of course all the sour beers I’ve been getting from RAR. I figure I’ll let the stouts age until winter.
  11. Nice one. I haven’t had a beer in 2 weeks. But I have plenty of good stuff I’ve been stock piling over those 2 weeks lol. Have a physical tomorrow and I’ve been feeling kind of off, so figured a good idea to chill with the beer for a while but happy drinking and hopefully I’ll be back on the horse soon!
  12. Or I could still bring up the playoff game to the Titanshave my golf cart ready tho
  13. Big lacrosse tournament at the park I work at today. John Harbaugh is here, his daughter must play on one of the teams. Pretty neat. Don’t think I have the courage to talk to him though lol
  14. I thought I saw one fly in a tree earlier at the park
  15. I think as long as we don’t get the 95-100 with heat indexes 105-115, we’ll be alright whether it’s technically a historic stretch or not. AC and energy bills won’t like it though, cuz still hard to keep the windows open lol
  16. Gotta work at the park today, let’s hope there’s no crazies today who try to light fireworks on the turf field or have some kind of huge party lol wish me luck
  17. Up here in Timonium, clouds have really kept the temp in check or at least what it feels like anyway. It’s a bit humid but it is tolerable.
  18. Idk 69 dew point isn’t too comfortable lol. Was expecting closer to 90 though, clouds have mostly kept that in check
  19. Really have cut back the beer drinking the last couple weeks but doesn’t mean I can’t continue to stock. Picking up from Black Flag today, Absolute Unit-a 13% imperial cookie dough stout aged in willitt barrels. And also a Norwegian imperial stout. After I pick up those and my RAR order Sunday I’ll probably have a solid 60 beers or so in the fridge.
  20. And have received barely any rain over here on the east side of Baltimore over the last couple of weeks lol
  21. I generally agree. I also think it’s a joke baseball is trying to start up. It’ll be shutdown a few days into “spring training” watch lol
  22. Love Tall Tales. Try to make it there every OC trip. Beers are good and it’s cool they’re always named after fairytale/legend type stuff.
  23. Hey! I may actually get some rain from an isolated storm to my southwest!
  24. Just noticed that one myself. Quick popcorn development on that one. Looks like it’s pretty much heading due north? Been some weird movement to some of these storms too the last few days, hard to track
