Negatively tilted trough, closed low, it’s going to tug it west. There’s nothing unusual about this in my opinion, it’s happened before. The phase/capture needs to happen later for it to track off the coast
ICON is looking decent, probably a beatdown just west of 95. Low just north of Wilmington at 102
Eh, it started tucking too quick west after 102. Still good front end snow though
It looks like the latest guidance is missing this batch of precipitation in northern Virginia. I wonder if there’s ground truth to it. If there is and it holds then freezing rain might materialize for more people
We’ll see if the modeling is right but this has been trending to more or a non event the last 12 hours. Precip driving more up into PA, allowing some warmth for most in MD before precip comes in around midday
Where it’s been snowing for hours, it’s clearly going to be a solid storm but I’m not sure I agree for us folks around DC-Baltimore. Precipitation shield looks like it’s weakening to me. Personally I think I’ll see 1” or less. We’ll see I guess
I was on the eastern shore by the way New Year’s Eve weekend..went to Dewey Beer co for the fist time. They had a cookie imperial stout that was good and went to Revelation Brewing. They had a Makers Mark bourbon barrel aged beer that was solid too
Would still be nice to see what it showed…any body have info? Looks like the NAM-Icon-GEM and RGEM were all steady or even improvements from their previous runs. GFS another little step back though
The good news about this one so long as the track holds up is that its mostly pretty chilled this week and cold leading into the storm. We shouldnt waste many flakes.
