    And it isn't the cold that's screwing the good pattern... it's the Atlantic blocking. So many cry for the NAO, but this is a great example of why it can be a bad thing

    LOL me too. Seriously though, on my way in to work this A.M. the guy in front of me looks to already be celebrating. All over the road, lingering at stop signs... 25 mph... HATE to see it!!

    Another day, another roll of the dice by the GFS. We've got at least several more days of this before anything is settled for all of those who live and die by each OP run. Here, I'm just glad to see activity and a favorable pattern for now

    Could you recommend one? I'd love to try an American Chestnut, but other options could be nice as well. There were two Chestnut trees in the woods near my grandparents house in SImsbury years ago. My grandfather and myself used to check on them regularly... but last time I was up there was in 1992! I doubt they still exist, but I really should check sometime.

    Yeah it looks pretty weak now, but it's obvious the GFS doesn't know what to key into and where right now. Like was said yesterday, treat it as just another ensemble member until we get closer. It amazes me how much it shifts every run now until within 3 days or so

    It has happened, but yeah super rare. I don't have a thousandths the retention of Will... but I do remember one happening something like 15 years ago? I think that's the last time I recall an event like that

    Myself I haven't looked at the Euro yet this morning. The GFS like usual is all over the place with a different solution each run. Personally I don't even like looking at it until it's within 4 days it's just so all over the place. Right now we just need to understand there's a favorable pattern for that time frame, but nothing more yet

    I was living in East Windsor at the time, 35 inches there and 34 in Simsbury. By FAR the toughest storm I ever had to plow.

    True, but many times said pattern is two plus weeks out. To me that's just something to keep an eye on until it is much closer in. Some don't get that
