  1. We can hope. I know that is inappropriate, but still it is always a long wait before the next season.
  2. Seems a little odd for this far into October with nothing to watch. The fluffy clouds against a crisp deep blue sky down here looks more like the high country in Colorado during July than a typical October in Florida. I am enjoying of course. It is gorgeous. But kind of longing to follow something even if I have to even pick up my yard!
  3. Maybe we'll have something to watch for Halloween...
  4. 2021 had its moments. I thought August would be dead and October hopping. I was wrong. November is never a "give up" in Florida, but not complaining at all. It has been comfortable around Tampa Bay this week, even had a good solid rain a few days ago. Miss tracking the storms, but kind of nice to relax and chill in October. Seems that has not been the norm the past few years...
  5. Beautiful, I could watch that all day long...
  6. That was a year I'll never forget. Charlie, Francis, and Jeanne all had impact in the Tampa Bay area, and actually within a short period. Preparing, anticipating, experiencing, clean up, and weeks without power for many of us combined with those storms. Seems like even later in the season we were impacted on some level as well. Charlie was not worst where I lived. But took out power and trees were down all over the place. But it passed during the daytime and I watched from my porch as shudders bounced down the street and shingles flew off of roofs across the street. Roof vents were also flying by like metal pelicans during the worst. It was not Cat 3, or even 2 where we were, but the wind was strong and consistent, the clouds blowing past, when it rained it was sideways, very awesome to watch. Jeanne was worse, but it was 3:00 am in the total dark with no power at the peak, so all we could do was see the damage after the sun came up. The sound was impressive though.
  7. It was the sloppy eyes for me! Edit: Except the Yucatan eyes which were amazing...
  8. Been a while since we've seen NOAA map like this.
  9. Looking forward to a very long sat animation from start to finish.
  10. Dead and Company cancelled their Florida shows next week, so I guess I'm ready now for an early October storm in the Gulf as I need some entertainment.
  11. "Teresa" had to have a storm this year. (My mother-in-laws name). I say better a minimal Tropical Storm out at sea than a Major anywhere. Seriously!
  12. I guess there is no TS Rose thread yet, or I missed seeing it. Rose is attractive this morning.
  13. OK, how about a beautiful low-end Tropical Storm Rose? I'll take it.
  14. It is certainly not the worst looking storm we've seen this year.
  15. I'd be happy with a strong beautiful Hurricane Rose to watch out at sea.
  16. September is going quick. I stop in now and then, work is very busy right now, so barely following this forum. October and November is what I expected to be intense. But hey, my posted numbers are the worst of the batch. A "watcher" who thinks he is intuitive cannot compete with real mets. I'm hoping for a quiet nice October in Florida with a few outdoor plans in place. November? Let it rock!
  17. Nicholas came to be. Surprise? Yes and no. I was too busy working to follow this one. (I hate when that happens!) Just looking at YouTube videos. Surfside Beach in TX took a hit, some real damage and flood prone roads are beat up and washed out with a storm surge of a few feet. Looks like most homes are on stilts and most survived OK, but a few that are older or cheated on requirements suffered. Great wind videos, some flooding. Nicholas made an impact. "Surfside" in the news...again? First this year the condo falling in Surfside, FL. Horrible. A storm was approaching after it fell, but major news was all over it as soon as it collapsed. Now Nicholas hits TX and I keep hearing "Surfside" this and that on the news and on Weather Channel. Surfside again. My Clearwater Beach client has vacation rentals and our beach cam is in Surfside Condos on Clearwater Beach. So any time "Surfside" is mentioned on the news we get a huge spike in web traffic. But we'd prefer "good" news!! We did have over 20K webcam visitors when Fred came by. Cool with us. Not the best vacation promotion, of course. But not a bad live video stream beach time except for the black sky over the Gulf, everybody was having fun on the beach. There is also a Surfside Condos in SC and I expect they see the same traffic on their websites. I'm just hoping this year is not a "Surfside" disaster year with hurricanes or anything else! I hope we here on the Gulf Coast and Surfside Condos on the beach in SC both escape national news this year! If there is a Surfside something in NY or NJ, I would be worried...
  18. I don't see any reliable webcams south of Galveston, but there are a few up there. https://www.pleasurepier.com/piercam.html https://www.galveston.com/webcams/babes-beach-videocam/ https://www.galveston.com/webcams/murdochsvideocam/ https://www.61stpier.com/piercam Surf is a kickin' a bit.
  19. Was sitting outside having a fantasy about Jim Cantori talking about the GFS 15 day out model hurricane on the east coast of Florida with kids doing cartwheels behind him. When I went in my wife had on the Weather Channel and they had that new lemon bringing floods to Texas. I had to laugh to myself. But yea, could be a flood maker I guess.
  20. Fantasycanes are great. I'm excited about fantasychasers and definitely fantasylive storm cams! Maybe we have an entire new billion dollar industry at hand! Fantasyweather Channel!!!
  21. Tropical Storm conditions for certain at Panacea Channel last night:
