Trying to keep the faith but just felt the outflow boundary from the N Wake county storm blow through and no rain for us. Looks like another miss here. Hoping to break the streak, no measurable rain for 2 weeks and we missed the majority of the heavy rain during the wet/cool week in early June

Well we broke our streak on the 14th day, barely. Got fringed by storms. 0.09” in rain bucket. Already dry out again

Picked up about 0.02" this morning. The expected afternoon/evening storms have failed to materialize again.

We’ve done a tremendous job of missing storms here in the last week. 0.00” again. Feels good out this evening though

Wow..low was 52 this morning...athens tied their record low of 53.  Pretty wild for   June 17th....going to make the mid 90s this weekend feel even worse though.

Amazing! We need to enjoy this while we can!

Bluefield, Blacksburg, Roanoke, and Danville all posted record low maximums for June 15. Resisting turning the heat back on here. That just feels wrong for mid-June.

Idea of jackets/heat in June after the last few summers sounds awesome (and is).

Additional showers and storms are likely to develop along the surface
to 925 mb front/trough from s-cntl VA swwd across the NC Piedmont
later this afternoon; and these will become numerous to widespread
while settling only slowly sewd across the US Highway 1 corridor in
cntl NC through early tonight. That activity is likely to pose the
greatest risk of flash flooding, focused between 20Z Thu and 06Z
    Fri.

We will see. My 80% chance of rain today so far has consisted of about 5 minutes of rainfall.

  9. First 90 reading of the year. Sunny and hot. 90 degrees. Not upset it took till June 3rd to finally hit it! Also not upset that there is no death ridge in sight to sustain it, like most of our recent summers about this time of year

  10. 1.30" of rain here in Raleigh today. Came down in buckets this morning. I'm sure the vast majority fell in about 30 minutes. Good lightning and thunder too very early when that storm pushed through. Currently sun is out, waiting on next round. Some distant thunder too.
