360 degree sunset ni Stowe Vermont

Looking at the clouds building into Stowe VT and thinking of hopping in the car and heading northeast. Looks like lots of high thin clouds which I'm guessing will make for some really cool 360 sunset photos. Or head north looking for clearer skies. Clear blue skies looking NE. Going to make my decision at 1. Thoughts?

All schools in that totality path in Vermont are closed for the day.

Bring mud boots. Corn fields always have high spots that are drier. You can have a mud moat around yourself.

I think there are going to be people everywhere in BTV and the surrounding towns. I would head northeast towards the Fairfax or Cambridge area. The good news is that all the corn fields are bare right now (may be muddy) so you can probably find a sopt without many people. I'm in Stowe and am planning to go out in the middle of one of the corn fields that is walking distance from our house. Boyden Farm Winery in Cambridge might be a good spot - they are surrounded by corn fields: https://www.boydenvalley.com/ If you need to stay in the Burlington area try Colchester High School, Airport Park in Colchester, or maybe one of the golf courses. Stay on paved roads.

Keep in mind that it is mud season in northern NE and it's probably worth sticking to paved roads unless you have 4wd and good ground clearance. The ruts are real.

Flexible brush (https://www.chewy.com/sungrow-food-bowl-water-dispenser/dp/379167) and a hose will blast the junk right off the sump pump. Wear a mask to keep the spray out of your mouth.

What a difference 24 hours makes. We ended up with 3+ feet of water in our yard and 6 feet of water in the basement after Irene. Since then the town of Stowe have upgraded a 3' culvert to a 5' box culvert and replaced a double culvert with a bridge. No flooding and I'm guessing the rainfall surpassed Irene here. There was a lull yesterday afternoon that helped drain some of the water out before it started downpouring again late in the afternoon.
