  1. I was much the same. Unfortunately, one of the few times I had the nerve to post, I made some lame joke to/about stormtracker and he five-posted me. I remember it like it was yesterday - sitting at my kitchen table as runs were coming in prior to (I think) the February 2010 period and feeling so giddy that I just went for it...and BAM! Five-posted. I think it was at least a year before my post limit was lifted. That's just one reason why I cringe now when some of the new folks make jokes that just seem completely out of place.
  2. That energy in central Canada is just racing out ahead now. Too much spacing between those two pieces of energy and we can't get the phase to happen at the right time.
  3. I'm not interested in being in an echo chamber, but I'm not dealing with trolls or morons.
  4. Once again, my dad jinxes a storm...this time for my family in South Jersey. He sent an e-mail with an image of the 06z Euro snow totals at 9:30 am, and a couple hours later the 12z suite deflated his whoopie cushion.
  5. All you people only now hopping on the Ignore train...
  6. No need for either of you to apologize to me...I'm just a long-time member with no duties other than to observe the chaos and comment! I'm honestly more annoyed by the peanut gallery chiming in than anything, but I think it's best for everyone to just let it go at this point!
  7. But you're a very mature 12.
  8. Can we make the next threat a super short tracker? This long tracking combined with the sheer number of immature posters around here is just a recipe for disaster if we don't end up with the highest-end scenario.
  9. I was about to mention this here. We need to let mods be mods. Stepping in - whether maturely or not - isn't helping.
  10. People are acting like children, including the ones who are poking their noses in and commenting/joking in the analysis thread about the "public tête-à-tête." Seriously...how old are these people?
  11. This storm is so annoying. Why can't we just keep a positive trend going? It was looking really encouraging yesterday when the two vorts were much better timed/aligned for a couple runs, but things went back to shit again. It's like those suites initialized differently, since those shifts at H5 were apparent across all (almost all?) models, then at 00z the vort alignment went back to looking like it did before.
  12. I don't recall the RGEM ever really looking all that promising. GGEM? Sure, but I feel like the RGEM has been consistently holding back the energy in the Southwest and getting the phase going too late. I'm open to being corrected though.
  13. Trough is just so broad compared to the sharp trough on the NAM.
  14. I think it's OK for folks to comment after the run (or at least the interesting part) is done, but there's a lot of poor discussion. Just need to rein it in a *little bit*! I'm by no means even close to an expert, but I do comment where I feel comfortable; otherwise, I leave it to those who actually know what the hell they're talking about. Lots and lots of years of posting less and reading more.
  15. Let's not get crazy here. The GFS isn't going to smoke us, and I don't think it's wise to even consider the possibility that any model run will do so.
  16. Thanks. I mean...it was almost from the start that the timing seemed so much better. No need to speculate on here as to what that would mean as the run was coming out, but for me that's where it all started. It was only a matter of waiting to make sure it didn't sh*t the bed, which the NAM is wont to to.
  17. Have to agree with this. I was following on Pivotal, which came out pretty quickly, and I was a *little* surprised by the reactions. To me, the northern and southern energy were much better timed from the start, and everything fell into place from there. If that's right, then it makes sense that we were heading for a nice look at 84. if not, then who the hell knows?
  18. Energy in the Southwest isn't getting held back and the energy up north isn't racing ahead.
