  1. Time to get this bad boy started since the long-range is about to poke its nose into March and many of us are starting to get our seedlings started for the upcoming season. I'm planning to get my seedling going this weekend. Many of the same ones form last year with the goal to have a couple rows of spinach and lettuce to start things off. Then eventually transfer eight tomato plants, four jalapenos, three cantaloupe plants, and various herbs as we hit the middle of April. Lawn? Main thing for me is keeping alive the sections we had sodded in the middle of November; I'll worry about bare spots later. All seems to be going well at this point though...
  2. The melts by the "north and west crew" in the long-range thread really are something.
  3. Be thankful for whatever snow falls at your house. Snow is snow!
  4. And trying to find an always-perfect correlation between a given hemispheric pattern and the weather in your backyards on a specific day and time.
  5. That's not a feature of a Nina. It's just a timing thing. Causation does not equal correlation.
  6. 36 and impatiently awaiting my ice storm.
  7. 60 and absolutely pissing down rain in Burke.
  8. 57 here in Burke. Debated putting the A/C on before bed.
  9. What I'm hearing you say is that we shouldn't be doing what the .gif in my profile pic is doing.
  10. They were approved to wear head covers, balaclavas, etc. though they aren't normally allowed. Some had head covers on and some had them on then pulled them down, but others didn't bother. There's definitely a tough-guy syndrome for some of them, but I don't think you get as much of that meathead aspect of it as much as you do with NFL and college football.
  11. As long as it's not 35 and rain (or 38 and rain or 42 and rain) I can probably enjoy it!
  12. You wouldn't have guessed it based on some of the posts in here...and the GFS certainly "thought" that up until about this time yesterday.
  13. Wait...so there's not going to be a major ice storm?
  14. I think temp at kickoff was 7F; at second half kickoff it was 4F. Saw one wind chill reading of -11F, but I imagine there wasn’t much of a breeze inside the stadium. Just read that two Honduran players who we’re subbed out at halftime were being treated for hypothermia. Oops…
  15. I'm going to Vegas for a conference for a couple days in May. Guarantees that we get wedges on The Mall. I that OK for this thread or do we have to wait for the Second Week of May Medium-Range thread?
  16. Same. This Northeasterner has no desire to be anything else.
