  1. Oh...*that’s* what we’re talking about. Serious butthurt about that one!
  2. Guess I could have posted this in here, but figured it was better placed in the obs thread:
  3. I’m good. Just enjoying the meltdowns among the folks who haven’t had need to melt yet this year! 26 and sleet in Burke.
  4. Welcome aboard the winter 2020-2021 failure train, folks! Plenty of seats in the back! Glad to have you along for the ride!
  5. Same. I’m guessing bad model runs? Disappointment among the crew who aren’t used to failure like MBY is?
  6. Just woke up. I’m guessing people are upset?
  7. I doubt that’s sleet, but even if it is, it’s better than flakes that melt on contact.
  8. Shhh...don't tell luvr! 29 with 80% low clouds in Burke.
  9. Just saw it. Not one bit of surprise that it came from that person. D*ck swingers gonna swing d*cks.
  10. Please don't tell me it's been hidden! <runs off to the storm thread>
  11. Are you saying you'd rather get COVID than not get snow?
  12. Yoda will undoubtedly have you covered.
  13. My take is that they're doing the best they can given the situation, but I don't think their categorizations are quite what they should be. I agree that folks like you really should be in 1b, along with your wife and kid. Maybe if better vaccination planning had started sooner then it wouldn't be so hodgepodge right now, but I think it's at least starting to show signs of improving.
  14. Edit: One free attaboy for anyone able to get the movie reference.
  15. Thanks! I support an organization that considers us to be mission-critical, and Fairfax County considers the organization to be part of the 1b group. I'm hoping my wife can get the shot ASAP, as well, but she's just signed up as a normal schmuck.
  16. We think back on it and realize how bad it could have been. She got tagged three or four times by bald-faced hornets two summers ago and ended up going to the ER - first time she'd had an obvious allergic reaction since that scare all those years ago. Damn sure she carries around an EpiPen now. I'm like you - I can take hits from all kinds of stinging insects and not react at all )other than pain and some swelling), but let me touch poison ivy/oak/sumac and I'm fugged.
  17. My wife and met each other while she was living down south, so we started our lives together via long-distance relationship. One late night, a couple months after we met, she called me to tell me that she was headed home after an evening out with friends. She also told me that she had gotten bitten on her foot by what she assumed was fire ants. I asked how she was, and she said that her foot had swelled up and that her face was starting to itch. She then mentioned that she was driving by a hospital and wondered whether she should check herself in (and then laughed about it). I told her emphatically YES, so she did. 5-10 minutes after she checked in, they took her into a room where she passed the F out. A shot of Benadryl brought her right back, but if she hadn't pulled into the hospital right then...
  18. I can somewhat forgive the relative newbies (and they can be "taught"), but the folks who have been here for years have no excuse.
  19. Your stepmom sounds like quite the geek!
  20. I just want to reiterate that I wish people would just stop f'ing mentioning and/or responding to anyone who posts only to get attention. If anything is ruining being on the boards, it's seeing any mention of those types of posters.
