  1. It blows when a couple days of runs sets your expectations of seeing 8-12” of mostly/all snow only for a couple of subsequent runs forcing you to extrapolate the RGEM to see whether you’ll get an inch of deform after 8 hours of pouring rain, during which time folks north of us are reporting disgusting totals.
  2. Pretty sure that DT brought up “liberals” yesterday.
  3. Elevation, latitude, and longitude obviously all play a part. I’m pretty far west, all things considered, but at the lower end of elevation and with latitude not in my favor. I do see the benefits of being west of the fall line in a lot of situations though. I’ve done better than folks inside the Beltway in marginal events, so I don’t have huge complaints in that regard. I think 12/5/2002 was one - I got like 4” or so and places 5 miles east may have gotten a coating. I’d love to be farther west, but there are a lot of benefits to being where I am right now. I just wish more snow were one of them!
  4. I’m at like 325’ and 4-5 miles west of 95. Definitely west of the fall line and at some elevation, but too close to feel that climbing-a-pole feeling in these situations.
  5. Not liking where this is going...
  6. The pizza around here is utter garbage. Best I’ve found is Wise Guys in DC - that’s a damn good pie. Italian Store is decent. Everything else is poor to crap.
  7. Nice! I’m a bit of a pizza snob (grew up near Philly) and I have a neighbor up the street from New York, so we’re both really into making our own pizzas and we compare our pies all the time!
  8. ^ Equilibrium is a really good brewery. My only issue is that a lot of their beers have the same tea-like thing going on. I can only assume it’s a water chemistry-related issue.
  9. I have to admit that I did miss that massive, wound-up bomb sitting in the spot that we all look at when trying to determine what the setup looks like. I’m most appreciative to Jakkel that mine eyes have been opened.
  10. But at least I can feel good about *trying* to piss in their cornflakes.
  11. It’s about all I have to offer. Besides...the time between model runs is filled with some pretty boring posts.
  12. Holy sh*t...you’re right! We missed it!
  13. Let’s be honest...Monday isn’t a threat for 80% of the people in this forum. I guess if you hicks think it’s worth it then be ready for the city folk to sh*t it up with rain obs.
  14. I would murder someone if this happened.
  15. I guess we can ignore the absolute monster that blows up at bit north and east of us on Christmas Eve. I mean...it's a long way out there, but... Holy fack
  16. I heard that we're going really warm around December 20 and that we're already looking at losing our block. Is that true?
  17. At 96, GFS CAD signature looking better this go 'round, as well. It's been doing this multiple runs in a row now.
  18. I'm OK with getting screwed on this if everyone else gets screwed. Like a big ol' orgy in a rainstorm.
  19. I was in college in central PA. Absurdly awesome winter that year...and then again in ‘95-‘96.
  20. Do it. They won’t be missing any of their quality when fresh, and because they pasteurize those beers now they don’t change much at all over time. It’s just so freakin’ good every year. I’m all about buying from local breweries (and I certainly do that), but BCBS makes it so hard to justify buying arguably lesser-quality barrel-aged stouts at a higher price point.
  21. It’s amazing the Goose Island can pump out an amazing beer like BCBS year after year after year, especially at their volume. Incredible.
  22. Give me a chance to take pictures of the house with Christmas lights and the festive season will be complete. And I guess giving the kids a chance to play in the snow is nice, too.
