Multiple Costco runs per week for us, but I wonder if we could get an RD membership as concessions leads for a pool. Hmmm... Yeah, helping with concessions pretty intense. Our pool is known for its concessions (especially our travelling tacos and breakfast burritos), and the wife has been in the pool house or in meetings for prep, execution, and clean up for upwards of 30 hours per week the last month. I've been making Costco and the random Giant/Safeway runs to help out. Nothing like when you realize 30 minutes before a B Meet that one major item was left off the list and you need to run out at the last minute to grab that one thing. Ugh...

Maybe it means we suck less than last year. Four triples is impressive. I haven't volunteered for anything this year since mrs g is running concessions. I do enough to help with that and I have to keep tabs on the 3-year-old during meets - no way can I do anything else.

Are you timing/judging? We have relay carnival tonight, too, but it's not at our place so we can wander around. 8-year-old is only swimming the free relay, but we'll probably end up sticking around for a bit.

You people talking as if we (admin most of us on here) have any chance at a respectable winter anymore.

Only had the one hit today. It was nice, but nothing more than a middle-of-the-road storm. Glad(?) to hear you got a direct hit. Hope the power comes back soon!

It appears that the cell that rolled through Fairfax county bullseyed MBY with some of the heaviest rains so far today

And two minutes later, we’ve now had multiple lightning flashes/thunder.

Interesting…not one clap of thunder with the cell that’s overhead right now. Really nice wind and decent rain. Edit: First wind gust brought down a lot of cicada-induced flagging tree limbs.

That or Tired Hands...

Storm heading into Price William County was just warned for gusts up to 60 mph. Might sit out on the still-unfinished porch when it rolls through in the next 30 minutes or so.

Liking the way radar is lighting up and the HRRRRRRRR depiction after the first round comes through. Missed out on yesterday's storms by less than 10 miles. Would love some nice boomers today.

Watch issued for pretty much everyone. Or so I heard.

I had a manual for 13 years and was in the same boat. I enjoyed driving it, but driving it in traffic sucks. I honestly haven't missed that car one bit. Automatic just makes driving simpler, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with getting behind the wheel of a car that's easier to drive.

Definitely the “flaggiest” tree I’ve seen (alI believe it’s a white oak). This tree is pretty much just up the road from us and has looked like this for at least a month, but I decided to finally take a picture. Pretty impressive.

As long as it’s not pouring on Saturday morning, I’m good. We have a home A meet that I’d love for us to get in. Looking more like the heavy stuff could be through by go time.
