Man I felt it in my gut in 2013 that I probably wouldn't witness another epic winter like it again. It felt like the roads were snow covered and iced over all winter. Here we are 11 years later and no winter has come close...
Atleast it looks reasonably warm in the coming weeks. It seems we either get cold and suppression or se Ridge flexes it's muscles and it's congrats those west of the lakes.
Yea I'm weird, lake effect is cheating snow. I'm talking mainly system snow and the detroit area. Up here north of detroit, we haven't hit our december avg of snow in 6 winters.
Nothing bothers me more than pouring rain during one of our 3 main months of potential snow. Another slow start and most likely another weak December snow wise.
Yea its been awhile since there's been a bowling ball type low to deliver from Illinois through Michigan. There's been plenty of 10+ storms but most have been pretty isolated/smaller areas.
Yeah I'm not saying they are going to be the magnet but they usually have to cash in first before we get in on some snow. I've seen this b4. If we don't take advantage of the cold we'll be fighting precip issues when a storm does come around.
Perhaps I am overlooking that one but it was prob jackpot south towards you. Last storm I recall was the Nov veterans storm I mentioned yesterday in 2019.
We all know the cold with back off just as a low pressure ejects out of the rockies and/or 4 corners, we all end up with precip issues/most likely rain while msp cashes.
Thanks for the info. 6 years is definitely too long. Hopefully this December we can get 10+. Also it's gonna be awhile before we break the daily Nov snow record of 9" in detroit that was set back in 2019, mby got 11 with that veterans day storm.
