  1. Gfs/euro with something to keep an eye on for next monday/tuesday. Before that though, rare stretch of 5 straight days of sun here in the 40's and maybe even 50's.
  2. For some odd reason I don't recall this storm here in metro detroit. Maybe it was ghd2? I do remember a snowstorm forecasted 3-5 days before detroit hosted the superbowl in 2006. I don't think anything even ended up accumulating.
  3. Man if y'all didn't choke too, would've been a fun nfc championship game in detroit.
  4. I thought being a lions fan was tough, guess I hadn't seen nothing yet. Then they choke for the world to see. Almost everyone in America was rooting for them, except for a few divisional fans. This one's gonna hurt for awhile.
  5. Crazy how detroit broke the precip record for january after today. Who would've thought half of it was probably liquid.
  6. I'd imagine areas along 59 were the jackpot. Funny possibly the biggest event of the winter might be one where 1-2 were forecasted. Did the band just stall out. What did the models miss?
  7. This is probably another one of those events where your area gets two or three more inches than the east side. One of these days I'm gonna take a ride to the hills during an event.
  8. Of course I am out of town for a surprise, overachiever.
  9. I'm confused. Is that palm dewd? if it is, gotta admire him entertaining us during this zzzz winter.
  10. Different strokes. Josh always keeps his expectations low which is smart if you're a big dog fan in metro detroit. I've learned we can't do anything about it so it's useless to get all bent outta shape when we have a winter like this current one. Ya got 3 months and to expect to cash in a legit storm more than once or twice is unrealistic expectations.
  11. Pretty incredible to see 80s reached today in and around DC. Dont usually see the SE ridge flexing in El nino.
  12. Pretty excited for deformation band rain in the dead of winter. Gross
  13. I got a flight out at 7am, good chance its canceled? Also do they have to de-ice a plane if it sits more than an hour between landing and taking off for the next flight?
  14. I'm sorry you got a Ghd scar too. Tbh after getting screwed with the first one, I forget the details on the ghd2/3, locally and other areas. It's good to see things kinda even out. Ex:Minneapolis
  15. 2 inches yesterday and nice 3 fluffy inches overnight with heavy snow now. Cool to see the rare heavy bands roll in from the NE, vortices no less. Easy 2 inches per hour with the ratios.
  16. Yea im getting tired of seeing dark greens on the qc radar.
  17. Aided by lake effect I'd assume? Or was it mostly system snow?
  18. Jackpot toledo. With these ratios, wouldn't be surprised to see someone stack a half a foot in the band.
  19. So its gonna be dry all week while we have legit cold air in place, then it warms up, gets active and get rained on.
  20. Its funny, more often than not when dtx issues a wwa, we overachieve and underachieve when they are bullish with wsw. But yea its a legit blizzard out. I always gotta remind myself to enjoy it because it may be the only event we get this winter.
  21. Yea saw some lightning a few times. I was expecting more rain here on east side but its been all snow and been coming down for 4 hours now. Nothing significant but definitly a pleasant surprise.
  22. It's been a minute since I've been on the east side of a low and still have dynamic cooling take over. Temp dropped 6 degrees past 2 hours.
  23. Definitely 2 inch per hour band. Doesn't get much better locally as far as rates go. If only it could stick around for a few more hours.
  24. Definitely a bummer to have back to back respectable storms and have to worry about cold air/accumulation. I'd rather have warm and dry like December. Congrats to those in the nw sub though.
