  1. In the business of long range forecasting - the bolded portion is NEVER a safe thing. There should *always* be doubts when dealing with things beyond day 7...let alone day 10 or 15.
  2. Well yeah. I'm not dumb Wasn't it you that said they simulated a scenario where the water would stop running etc.
  3. Maybe we'll make a run at @Eskimo Joe's doomsday ice storm scenario.
  4. Tiny bit of white showing up in mulched and grassy areas in Potomac, MD/Rockville (near 270 and Montrose).
  5. Just checked the camera pointing out my apartment window in Columbia and visibility has improved a bit since I last checked.
  6. No accumulation of any type here in Potomac, MD. Snowing, though.
  7. I'm at work waiting for them to make a decision. We technically go by MC Government but we always seem to be more generous than them. No decision yet. First snow driving test potentially for my new car. JebDrive.
  8. You're asking a lot of these folks, mappy
  9. Topper just mentioned potential for thunder on Twitter.
  10. I don't even want to imagine what the commute tomorrow night is going to be like even if roads are just wet. A heavy burst of snow potentially centering on 3-6pm...I"m already in the car for 1.5-2 hours ONE WAY a day. Going to be a fun day of radar tracking tomorrow.
  11. Maybe this is the little event that starts the process of turning our luck around...
  12. I'm guessing it'll be a mess only because of how people react here to anything (especially snow) falling from the sky. I would guess that road conditions should be relatively okay unless it really rips fatties during the burst.
  13. There was a heck of rainbow just now in the 270 corridor. Very clearly visible double rainbow with insane width on one of them.
  14. At this point I just want some sort of exciting weather. Even a wind event would do...this is just boring to the max.
  15. Yup - that looks like a gusty wind for us verbatim. Just another solution.
  16. One little patch of slush on the road leaving my parent's neighborhood this morning. That's about it. Enough snow/sleet to whiten the grass as well. Think a delay would have been fine...but we live a funny era.
  17. Barely a dusting in Colesville when I left for work this morning. Didn't stop somebody from crashing into a school bus and snarling Randolph.
  18. The airmass is not bitterly cold or anything. It may be "cold enough" in spots but it's also still a time when we are fighting climo. A good ULL pass doesn't guarantee snow of course.
  19. I've always had this question - do models actually suffer from this? I'd assume that each run has no "recollection" of what the prior ran show. Therefore, shouldn't it just show what is modeled regardless of the prior run? Mods and shadow mods - this was not intended to be OT.
  20. Have learned a ton watching you and Bob Chill and the others post. All thanks to you guys!
  21. Not showme but look at the huge trough in the east and the angle of the height lines. No room for anything to turn up the coast. Obviously it's a mean so it's smoothed but that's a textbook look for too much cold. Like showme said - you could get a white smoke clipper - but there's not going to be a KU with that look. No monsters lumbering up the coast.
  22. @WxUSAF hit the nail right on the head below. Look at the height lines. You're pretty much getting a tsunami of straight Pacific air flowing over the entire CONUS. We want a nice flow of continental polar air to give us good cold air delivery.
  23. I see 11/2009 in there - probably too early but everyone knows what came later
