  1. SARS putting out a decent amount of sounding analog results too...
  2. I'll take the accolades and sweep the fact that it was dumb luck under the carpet
  3. Gusty shower went through Colesville, MD a few minutes ago while I was eating lunch. Nothing significant.
  4. Mesoanalysis has mid-level lapse rates getting crappier but low level lapse rates still steepening.
  5. That would be so cool to see here. Not getting my hopes up - but let's do it!
  6. Winchester, Martinsburg and Hagerstown all have dews in the 30s this morning. But they are also pretty far west. Let's see what the next few hours hold.
  7. With dews in the 40s and temps in the 50s - I'm not at all enthused for anything more than a breezy shower or two and a rumble of thunder.
  8. Simulated echo tops aren't that impressive - so things will probably be low topped. But isn't the freezing level pretty low?
  9. The latest (10z) HRRR actually looks pretty good around, and to the east of DC in the 16-17z timeframe.
  10. I should have said - at least at this stage - it's going to be all about whether it's even there or not...
  11. Going to be all about timing and the usual stuff!
  12. 12z Euro with a bowling ball at H5 post 200hrs
  13. I agree with this like 90% of the time - and definitely for tornadoes I agree for sure. If you're looking downburst winds and large hail - I would argue that huge CAPE values and maybe a little to be desired on the shear/dynamics side of things could potentially serve you better...more pulsey and isolated for sure, though. But yes - I would take your combo over the opposite more often than not.
  14. Looks quiet for now. GFS had maybe a window around April 23rd.
  15. PEPCO only has 2,400 outages so far. I'm sure that'll come up a bit. Not bad for a start to severe season.
  16. Not seeing anything on LSRs yet other than some wind reports. Probably just the lag like EJ said,.
  17. Less lightning/thunder than a really good summer-time storm - but the wind and such made this better than a lot of summer storms. Good severe day!
  18. Really nice gust here (there was another decent one a few minutes ago). This is near Colesville, MD.
  19. Going to miss me JUST to the north it looks like. Darkening up here big time.
  20. Lightning strikes ahead of the line showing up on the ENTLN data.
  21. THat MoCo cell looks really good all of a sudden. Tail-end charlie FTW if it holds.
  22. Next line (for the moment) looks very lackluster other than the Washington County portion.
