Call someone else! That's crazy. You don't need a uv irradiation unit! Also, if your blower isn't running the filter won't accumulate dust. We haven't run our unit until this week. Of course that varies depending on one's comfort, etc. Don't even get me started on duct cleaning scams!
-
Don't forget about cabin air filters in your vehicles too! If you drive a lot, these will be even worse!

Hit Miss Storms? I remember a lot of the music they played in the early 90s. Rippingtons Russ Freeman stuff.

So this is what the bullseye looks like! Happy Birthday! My brother in law's is July 12, there is no better way to remember/celebrate with some gully-washing storms as long as everyone stays safe!- 2,790 replies

Got two rounds. Second one much better (best lightning in a long time). Still going on. I took some video of both lightning and fireflies. They seem to work together! Lots of pink lightning too. Youtube still processing video, will link when done. No watering needed tonight that's for sure! EDIT: video is up, it's still processing so at the time I'm linking it's unfortunately potato quality.- 2,790 replies

Upper 70s with lower 70 DP currently. Definitely a sultry, thick feel to the air this AM. Clouds have thinned, sun is out. Waiting for the worms to come!

I came back from being out of town for 2 weeks, figured the drought timing was good enough to let things go and now I need to trim and mow some acres and the weather isn't playing nice. It ALWAYS works that way! Wash the car, RAIN. Snow plow isn't ready, SNOW. Haven't run the A/C all summer long, get legit 70 DP, start up and blows hot hair. Compressor contactor wire burned off terminal. Etc Etc Etc.

Radar Omega user here. I switched about a year ago from Radarscope. (pro 2 RS to RO Alpha subscription) Amazing amount of info to have anywhere, cross platform (Win/Mac/Android/iOS). Fortunately for us KDOX is good enough but for the folks to the west, Sterling being hard down is a royal PIA particularly tomorrow's potential svr event.

First enhanced for us since July 12, 2022 which in fact for many of us, did indeed verify. I just hope the tennis ball sized hail stays out of our yard this time around!- 2,790 replies

Towers are rising like dewpoints here!

UPDATE 06/25/2023 SIXTH unit has fallen offline, had to be power cycled and is running on very low volts despite in full sun (>1.3kW/m^2). Ticket opened with WF support. Like my patience with this unit, it's on a short mast on a roof mounted tripod for easy access. This unit has needed more attention than my RM Young tipping bucket rain gauge!

0.65 here. Definitely a soaker but we need much more (that is becoming a theme here LOL). Had some nice gusts in the past hour, humidity is coming down. Did not hear thunder here despite all the lightning strikes around. We're close to the jackpot it looks like for this. Puddles in the garden, and gutters overflowing in last run. Checked and 4/5 downspots were literally stoppered with seeds. Easy fix but usually biannual gutter maintenance works. I guess with the lack of rain stuff gets clogged up good. It's been a while. Oh and how about that air quality? Finally well into the green for PM2.5 here!

Most fireflies so far this season! They are everywhere, outside they land on you, they're on the screens driving the cats crazy. It's close to the peak I saw in 2019!
-
Yeah we've been seeing them increasing in numbers. Pesky 40s lows have been keeping them away it seems. And too, this year, by far has been the latest that we've seen our first! I have to get out with the SLR more when we peak!
-
"None of this is gonna happen" - Ryan Hall on these long range models. Truer words never spoken! Look how much has changed in the last runs. No different than winter storms. Rinse, wash, repeat. Hopefully we get some rain and not too much at once!
-
Sooo much better today after yesterday's dumpster fire! Now all we need is a few days of nice rain!

Have to wonder how this affects wildlife. Birds are still very chirpy here.
