I read the gfs casually and that track/intensity seemed 2004 Alex-like. Didn't look at any upper air stuff or whatever. Then I read this.... Hurricane Alex was one of the northernmost major hurricanes on record, and whose formation marked the fifth-latest start to a season since 1954.
