  1. Hmmm. GFS gets flakes even out here to Winchester tonight.
  2. 12Z ICON on board with some flakes in Leesburg this run.
  3. RGEM is a little more interesting. Better organized and gets some snow close to DC.
  4. The NAM's want nothing to do with the Tuesday thing. Not really in their wheelhouse anyways. If they even have one. But the precip is just so light that we would have no chance anyways with the temps being advertised.
  5. Not our winter so far for sure. Maybe March will deliver.
  6. My wife just crossed the Bay Bridge and said it is snowing there.
  7. We got screwed early in the season last year with the cold air getting trapped on the other side of the hemisphere. We have had plenty of cold this year. It just so happens east did better. It happens. Doesnt make it any less insufferable for those of us to the west. It just is what it is.
  8. The PAC ridge is pretty much normal in a Nina. The Atlantic side has been completely weird though. The few times it has buckled those of us to the west have been pretty screwed. The SE has had more than their fare share. And it appears the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley are going to get theirs over the next couple of weeks which is also normal in a Nina. I am wishcasting but I think we will get one to line up for us before its over. Everyone else has scored. We are due.
  9. I agree with you about a sustained -NAO. Probably not gonna happen in a Nina. But we dont really need it sustained. Just timed right for us to score. The next 4 weeks are prime climo for us to score a decent event. We'll see what happens.
  10. The GFS has been pretty consistent with this type of look in the longer range. Problem is the -NAO is transitional and the GFS kicks it shortly after that. We have had and the GFS is keeping a decent PAC ridge in the long range. If we could just get the NAO to cooperate for a bit in February it would be game on.
  11. 36 and rain. About as crappy as weather gets. Enjoy the ice for those that actually see some.
  12. Euro is a non event for everyone Sunday. No one on the East coast sees a flake at all.
  13. I dont even go below freezing out here on the 3K.
  14. I liked the long range look from a couple of days ago a little better with higher heights poking into Greenland. But I will take that as well.
  15. We suck at snow and we suck at naming football teams. They should have made the name the Washington Fail.
  16. Washington Commanders. What a joke. We suck at snow and we suck at naming football teams.
  17. The Euro caved again. And right after DT's no cold prediction. Classic.
  18. I think this is the important part right here. How warm do we actually get this week? The cold has been unstoppable for the past month. We still have a solid snow pack out west. I think the warmth will bust for many of us.
  19. I know I am late to the party. Busy day at work. But like I was saying yesterday I dont see anything cutting into that 1050 HP. The models appear to be getting a grip on that part of it now. I would expect the boundary to come even further south if the HP is being modelled correctly. At least that my take on it.
  20. The Euro has been folding to the GFS all winter like a cheap suit. They ruined the Euro when they "upgraded" it.
  21. I will take my chances in mid February if this look comes anywhere close to verifying.
  22. I think the ICON is lining us up at 168. But who knows? The damn thing refuses to even run correctly on TT.
