Agree. Not really that close at all. HP in a bad location and moving out. Great Lakes low. Pretty much screwed. -

Someone needs to start a thread for the Sunday system. It is only three days away. And while it looks bleak for most in the subforum. It doesnt for others. 12Z NAM has blue all the way into NW DC this run.

It has become unusable at this point. They need to go back to the old GFS. At least you knew it's biases

RGEM is crazy cold at the surface heading into the Sunday event. 850's are decent. But that much cold would probably take some time to scour out. May end up icy?

Yes. They are sitting pretty right now for the next couple of weeks. Worst case I can take a drive 30 miles west and be in a couple feet of snow.

JonJon and Snowshoe are loving this run. 30 inches would keep them open for a while.

Sounding is snow here. But yeah. 36 at the surface. I would take lumpy mashed potatoes at this point.

GFS bringing the goods to the western burbs a week from Sunday as well. Would be nice to score three events in a week. Would save this debacle of a winter for me.

18Z NAM is lining us up for Sunday/Monday. Much colder up top than the GFS. And the vort is in a much better position. Hate to play the extrap game. But I am a snow starved weenie. And it would most likely be a plastering for the western burbs at least.

GEFS is definitely better than the op for Sunday. It is keying on the southern stream vort. And is colder than the op for west of the Blue Ridge.

Dude when you have that Nina HP in the Aleutians and of course the Pac LP to go with it the SER doesnt matter. The Conus is getting swamped with Pac air. It is over. The Pac is a debacle. And it has been for 3 years.
