We had some serious compaction today. I am still under 10 inches with my obs. But I probably broke it in all honesty. Got lazy with measuring during most of the day. Awesome two days though.
Picked up .7 over the past 2 hours. 9.8 total for the event. Have a little over 8 on the ground. And it is still snowing. Some great snow piles at the end of driveway. This stuff is going to be around for a while. Should pass 10 inches overnight hopefully. This is the best Miller B I can ever remember for our area. We usually get completely shafted in Miller B's. Not this time.
You just got a little unlucky with the banding. No one can know who is gonna get lucky with that. It worked out for us this time. Probably you next time. This band isnt as heavy as I was expecting. I will measure later tonight. Now that the suns down compaction should be less anyways.
I will be moving to Eastern Shore in the next couple of years. Gonna miss the mountains. But the nice thing about the Mid Atlantic is the mountains, beaches and cities are all within 3 hours. Love living here.
Banding sitting over Winchester again. 9.1 for the event. 20Z HRRR looks pretty nice for the next couple of hours. Nothing crazy but maybe another couple of inches through 01Z.
Next band moving into the Winchester area now. I was a little hesitant in believing what the models were spitting out. But the radar is filling in beautifully. 8.8 total for the storm so far. Should easily pass the December storm. Which was my goal. Snow 28 degrees.
Down to light snow here. I can actually see the sun through the clouds to my South. Cant wait for those heavy evening bands to come through later this evening.
