  1. Getting some of those Arkansas bands now. Just ripping.
  2. The NAM was trash with this storm. The GEM was the only model that insisted this was purely an ice bomb.
  3. It's still snow in the Winchester area. But I am eyeing those returns to my south as well. If that is snow we are getting buried. But I would bet it's sleet. 3.2 inches so far. Snow 23 degrees.
  4. RGEM is a sleet bomb for everyone. Followed by some nice back end snow to the nw of the cities tomorrow night. Concrete for Saturday morning.
  5. Damn. You would have to roll me out of your house on a cart like Hannibal Lector if I came over to your place. I would be hammered.
  6. Enjoy your inch of sleet. And welcome to my ignore list.
  7. Firing up the western band at hour 22. This has a chance to be a really great run.
  8. 0z HRRR is much better for my area. Comes in hot and heavy. Less sleety for the District I think.
  9. 27/10 after a high of 31 today. Definitely a little discouraged by the 18Z runs. Hate seeing qpf vanish as we approach an event. And every model is way more icy now than it was yesterday for out here. I will take the 3 inches of coming concrete in stride though. True sleet bombs are rare. I am so tired from this 2nd covid dose that I might sleep through all of the snow anyways.
  10. Man. Arkansas is getting absolutely wrecked right now. 2" per hour rates. Bring some of that here man.
  11. Everyone here needs to remember there is an ignore feature and use it. It will make your experience much more enjoyable. And if I make your ignore list so be it. No one can tell when they are being ignored.
  12. Just a slight difference in qpf from the two NAM's out this way. 3k says .5 total. 12K says 1.1 total. Nice consistency.
  13. Oh man. That back end band means business though. I hate having to depend on that for a big hit though. But it is sweet out here Tomorrow evening.
  14. I guess I will be the Deb on the HRRR. It is a quick burst and lengthy dryslot out this way. Big step back for those of us nw with the first batch. We'll see what happens after that. Back edge does flip back to snow out here though.
  15. Just look at the radar on the Gulf Coast and look at your current temps. Now look at what is happening in TX and realize you are all going to get hit tonight and tomorrow with a high impact winter storm. Are we getting feet of snow? Nope. But we are all getting hit. We'll unless you are in Short Pump that is.
  16. I keep a cord at all times just in case. I do a lot of backyard fire pits with the family so we use it. Wood is still the most dependable heating fuel there has ever been.
  17. I am not really worried about it. I think we are pretty much a lock for 5 inches at this point. I am intrigued by the second part Thursday night though. The UK has that band. It is just a little too far north for us.
  18. UK targets DC and south with the heaviest stuff as well. Those of us out west are watching our QPF dry up quick.
  19. CMC is similar to the RGEM. But a little better with the back edge stuff on Friday morning.
  20. Pretty massive differences out this way between the GFS and the PARA. Especially with the second part of the storm. Para is snow. GFS is ice.
  21. GFS sticks with the 2 part idea. More ice with the second part this run. Goes through Friday morning though.
  22. Thanks Scraff. Now you got me watching TWC again. Look at those snow rates in TX right now.
