  1. A bit early but golf season is over. Antigonish NS this morning. And so it begins. #NovaScotiaStrong
  2. Finally some good news in 2020. I’ll take a strong nor’easter over a cane no problem. Maybe Teddy will become a further shell of its former self. Still expecting some amazing waves. I’m gonna try to get near the coast to see it myself. Depending on conditions and road closures.(Authorities like to keep gawkers at away. For good reason) #NovaScotiaStrong
  3. Hurricanes at this latitude can do funny things. Lots parts interacting and coming apart with potentially explosive results. #NovaScotiaStrong
  4. Going to be interesting how Teddy interacts with that trough. To sling that nw at such high latitude will take some forcing. Dull roar from the local media so far. No alarm bells sounding yet. If nothing changes track wise I suspect later this weekend will be hoping as panic hits. #NovaScotiaStrong
  5. Sooo not really bad. Just maybe kinda not good?
  6. It’s coming. Time to do some prep work before the public gets wind of the threat. Didn’t have damaging cane strike on my 2020 bingo card. Darn it. #NovaScotiaStrong
  7. I can’t even see my province. Yikes..and with that AoA, could be wild here. Juan like #NovaScotiaStrong
  8. Concern level rising. Models are starting to get that locked and loaded look. Not good. Hoping for a whiff. Nick is due for one...lol #NovaScotiaStrong
  9. That op euro track would be very bad for western NS including my hood. Very very bad. My concern level is creeping up a bit. Only saving grace is the euro has been pretty bad at its handling of TC’s at this lead time. So we’ll see. #NovaScotiaStrong
  10. Canadian maritime interests are gonna have to keep and eye on Teddy. Eastern NE should keep tabs too.
  11. Could be a late bloomer. Late feb to April kinda deal. #NovaScotiaStrong
  12. How stable is a block like that? If it comes to fruition. Multi day type thing? Looks dewy. #NovaScotiaStrong
  13. The Halifax explosion was bigger than the Beirut blast if the numbers are compared. The former had a blast yield of just shy of 3 kilotons of TNT. The latter had 2.75 kilotons of ammonia nitrate but that has a explosive yield of 1 kiloton of TNT. Fertilizer and hi grade explosives do not equal same yield despite same mass. It’s around 40%. Nice shrooms from both though #NovaScotiaStrong
  14. This. If enough people don’t get on board, the vaccine will need to have a higher efficiency rate. 50 ain’t gonna cut it imo. Not with all the anti vaxers out there. #NovaScotiaStrong
  15. I saw a report that there may have been 2700 tones of confiscated fert being stored there after it was seized as illegal cargo. Apparently this was back in 2013 but it was still being held at the port. Again just a story I saw on the net. Might be bs but that’s looks like a 3kiloton blast. I feel bad for them. What a disaster for a country that was already struggling.
  16. My uneducated guess is ammonium nitrate. That stuff has been know to cause huge explosions with big pressure waves in the past. Could’ve started as a fireworks fire but spread into an area that stores fertilizer. Whatever it was, the explosion was massive in scale and power. Here is a pic I grabbed of twitter. The cars are overturned facing the epicentre. They were literally pulled toward the explosion from the vacuum created by the blast. That’s a beast. #NovaScotiaStrong
  17. Looks like their version of our 1917 Halifax explosion. Probably going to be a high death toll and likely be a lot of eye injuries due to people looking out windows just before the blast. #NovaScotiaStrong
  18. 110mph. Not bad. #NovaScotiaStrong
  19. Solid hit on the Cape that run. #NovaScotiaStrong
  20. While the rest of the US is going in the wrong direction, you guys should be proud of the work you’ve done and the results you’ve accomplished in New England. Not easy to beat this thing back but stay vigilant. The wolf is at the door. #NovaScotiaStrong
  21. Yesterday I got doored pretty good. Only high of 68 and misty most of the day. Today recovered to high of 80. Perfect balance between Saturdays heat and yesterday’s coolness. #NovaScotiaStrong
  22. High of 92F. Little bd front came through after supper. Temp dropped from 86 to 66 in 1hr. Currently 63F. Going to great for sleeping. #NovaScotiaStrong
  23. Another scorching day in New Brunswick. Miramichi recorded 99F. Second day in a row of a station in the province with that temp. Crazy and it’s only June. #NovaScotiaStrong
  24. High of 93f today. Very toasty for here. Mostly low to mid 90’s for most of the maritimes. Hot again tomorrow. #NovaScotiaStrong
  25. Bathurst New Brunswick hit 99f (37.2c) yesterday. Damn that’s hot. Crazy airmass for this time of year or anytime for them. #NovaScotiaStrong
