Yes, you're right, no freeze for you. You have the best lawn in the Northeast. We live in a furnace. Why no one listens to you is beyond me................... -

And look what happened with this years hurricane season. They first called for a very active season, then when we got to around August they brought that number down as everything just slowed down to a halt... Now Patty has formed way out near the Azores, and the next dorm is just about to form down in the Caribbean. That would bring us to 17 storms. Not bad to end off the hurricane season. -

Yes, you've mentioned that there's been no Frost or freeze about 10 times. But you keep failing to mention that there's been no Frost or freeze right where your house is. Lol. A lot of us have gotten down to freezing already. Frost absolutely and there's even been some freezes. A lot of the trees are almost bare. I don't remember Halloween having all the trees bare like this in quite some time. But I don't think any of this has a bearing on what we're going to see this winter. We need rain or precip of some sort soon. -

Same here man. That little tiny bit of rain we got Tuesday night. Didn't do it and it's our driest October on record. And I was thinking the same thing. We'll go from this extreme to another. Everything in this world lately has been doing things in the extremes. Let's hope that the next extreme relates to winter weather extremes!! -

I was just saying in a much earlier post that it was mentioned by one of the CT mets that he thinks our first chance of seeing our first flakes in Connecticut are going to be sometime between the 23rd and 27th of November. So that goes along with what you're saying about a possible pattern flip. But just so I cover myself. Especially for those others in here that are pessimistic...... I'M NOT SAYING THIS IS HAPPENING FOR SURE! Just wanted to be clear...hehe -

Ha!!! That's the pot calling the kettle black! All jokes aside... I know you get juiced up when we hit some good ole Winter weather. We're all just a bunch of weather geeks, nerds, gurus, ect... And most of us are looking for that's classic set up this Winter. -
That's alright.... Kev is in the November thread already writing this Winter off.... True story...lololol

When did you get so pessimistic? LOL. You've just about written off this winter already. And you've been poo-pooing the fall constantly. Maybe it's your defense mechanism, maybe it's reverse psychology... Who knows. Get a grip man!!! Lol -
Yeah ... On of our weather guys here in CT made mention of this on his live feed he does every morning. He's predicting that we'll see our first bit of snow in CT sometime between November 24th and 27th. We'll see if that comes to fruition. But it's nice to see signs pointing in that direction. In the meantime, we need some kind of rainstorm to come through here. Let's hope something appears out of nowhere within the next two weeks.
-
38 here.... Temps starting the upward trend today. Praying for some significant rain but not seeing anything I've the next 10 days at least. Uugghh
-
This is his defense mechanism. He has to err on the side of caution and get all pessimistic. But as soon as that first snowstorm comes, he'll get on that bandwagon... And that's when Mr. Optimistic comes into play. Mark my words.

With a pattern change?
-
So there you go. We'll have a third year in a row of a snowless winter. You may very well be right. But I hope you're wrong.
-
Today was definitely breezy. But this was a couple of days ago when I came home. Was no wind, but when I pulled in my driveway after work the entire driveway And lawn was covered with a carpet of leaves. Not just a few but literally covered where I couldn't even see my driveway from the grass.
-
Not sure if anybody feels this way. But I really feel the trees are becoming more bare faster than they have been in several years. Although the color was really nice around here, the last few days, they've just fallen quickly. I'm sure a lot has to do with the lack of rain. I have a feeling we'll have a lot less leaves on the trees for Halloween than we've had in the last few years at least.
-
Must you always make everything have a gay undertone? I swear.... If I didn't know better...lol ( and that's coming from a gay guy ). You are an odd bird! Now, regarding the leaves. The colors have been great, but I came home from work today and I feel like the leaves came down in droves as everything was completely covered. Covered. I think because it's been so dry, the trees are just losing the leaves now quickly. This may be the first time in quite some time that we'll have almost bare trees by Halloween.
-
Kev.... What in the hell are you talking about. When I look out my window at the woods around almost the entire perimeter of my house.... I see beautiful colors. Is it the best year for fall foliage... I'm not sure on that. But, it's not all brown trees.
-
I think they're now sitting at 82 now. So 83 is A great possibility at this point
-
With the increase from what you had is a load to where you were 45 minutes ago, I think getting up to 80/82 is definitely doable. It sucks though...we have to look outside at all the brown leaves since there is no nice foliage to look at ... Lolol
-
I can't understand how your area, or your microclimate is giving you a s***** Foliage. I wouldn't call it s***** when I look around the area here in Plainville. Plus we took a ride out to Washington outside of Litchfield and it was beautiful. Strange that you think it's real bad
-
Ok Kev.... We get it, reverse psychology. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. To say right now that it's going to go right through mid-november with dry and warm conditions. I wouldn't really bet on that. Far. Too many things can happen between now and then. Maybe a general consensus would say somewhat stable and mild. But you know as well as any of us on here that it just takes one storm on one given weekend to change things. And when it does, you're going to be the first one calling 4-8 inches of Snow. YOU KNOW I'M RIGHT...LOL
-
That's ok..... Let the dry, mild and brown stretch go through early November. It's December on that we want to see some changes. Fingers crossed ( and with a little lunch from mother nature ) we will see Winter kick in!
