  1. No..it's not just that post... There were several that seemed that pecimistic and negative. No matter. I'm done with my rant. On to bigger and better things..
  2. Ya know.. I didn't even think of that. I have about 3 or 4 that is like to block. Lol. Ok.. I'm done with my rant. With Covid-19, it's nice to have an outlet of something I love too talk about. I guess that's why I'm extra sensitive this year.
  3. Is this supposed to be a forum of optimism or is it mostly negative pessimism. I'm about to ditch this forum. I've been on a few others and there is definitely more of discussions on what may happen for the Winter months with optimism. To many poeple on here like to " Poke the coals " and make this forum not an enjoyable place to discuss weather. Some of y'all are ruining it for the rest.
  4. Okay.. But.. We seem to have model agreement from several of the big players that the Polar vortex will split, and from mid month December on, we could see some cold temps and possible snow events. Explain that one. And PS ... You're actually using the NWS and going with their forecast?? Okay..lol
  5. I hope you get 12ft on your house...that way by the time you dig yourself out, you will have missed the entire Winter....lolol
  6. Just reminiscing through part winters... Winter of 1798... November 17th-21st. Blizzard bright 1-3 Ft from Virginia to Maine. They said the snow stayed on the ground until the following April in the entire region. Rivers froze in NYC.
  7. Okay so here's the question. Comparing between the Euro and GFS ensembles. If we look back over the past month who did better with their future predictions?
  8. I'm thinking the fires that happened throughout Australia and also here in the western US, there has to be some effect on long term cooling in the upper atmosphere. In turn.. It should have an effect on pur weather as far as colder and Snowier Winters here in the US. The question is, will it effect the Eastern half this Winter or next?
  9. The way a lot of you are talking.... Maybe we should just camel this forum because it seems like Winter is finished before it ever started, several of your estimates. Or... All of you who are super negative could just leave and not come back on until spring... Let the rest of us who are optimistic enjoy each week as they come. To be honest.. It's not very enticing to come here to only hear all this Winter is over talk. So... Let's get some comments on who's staying and who's going. How's that for a topic.
  10. About to smash through Connecticut. Looks like a large bolt of lightning on the radar
  11. There's so many negative nelly's on here. Hopefully your reverse psychology works for you this Winter season. So, y'all can keep saying it's gonna be a snowless winter. I'm keeping myself optimistic about it
  12. Well. It's fun to see fantasy snow storms back in the models At least it's showing this and not glc's like last year. Fingers crossed that we get something from this storm
  13. Same here. Its nuts. I cant wait until.it dries tomorrow so I can use my back pack blower on the oak leaves.
  14. How well did they do with last year's prediction? Just curious
  15. This is nuts, but, theres has to be a break or snap back the other way when are experiencing something this extreme. You guys are acting like we will never see Winter again. I can eerily remember last year at this time being the extreme opposite from now. And look what happened then. Just saying guys and gals. Anyone else have any optimism?
  16. Now... Ususally when we have something this unusual and drastic for temperatures... We get that rubber band snap effect and it goea drastically the other way. I don't know, but, I think everyone is calling this Winter way to soon. We are in for some surprises this year.
  17. Lol.. For any of you young-ens reading this, do not jump off the cliff. We're bound to see some surprises this Winter
  18. So... From what ive seen and read, the Euro model showing these warm temps is not a great model when it comes to predicting the temps over the next several months. I'm just throwing this out there.
  19. Not sure what's going to happen December-Februaury ( March to ), but if we're to have a furnace I'd rather have it this month. I know we're not expecting a blockbuster winter in the Northeast oh, but it is expected to be better than last year. I do expect some surprises. Looking forward to what comes in the upcoming months
  20. I need to vent. I love some of your posts where you're totally canceling out winter ..... calling for the pig, as you call it, to pop it's head out for the entire winter. Last year, a lot of people were under the impression that we were going to have a stellar winter, and we still hoped and prayed that would happen even through January, but it never did. So with that said, I'm taking this every few weeks by every few weeks. None of you are wrong and none of you are right. Keep that in mind when you bicker back and forth LOL
  21. Any way to see this evidence? Hadn't heard a peep from any of the local Met's on this possibility?
  22. I swear I'm getting some cat paws mixing into the Rain now. Was just outside with my dogs.... I'm sitting about 450 asl.
  23. Now now children. No need to sling mud at eachother.. We have the election for that ..lol. Seriously... Just curious why I hadn't heard much mentioned for that shot of snow Monday Eve? Is it just squalid or a period of snow?
  24. That's funny. The Mets here in CT don't think we still see any accumulation....they are saying maybe something on the grass. I'm fine with that though.
